UNPOPULAR OPINION TIME; I think SoC is overhyped. Don't get me wrong it was good but not nearly as good as people made it out to be.
I'm currently reading Crooked Kingdom and this one is a lot more in line with the hype for the series... if it had shoulders I'm sure they'd be sore from carrying the duology xo

An under-hyped book I recommend is the Air Awakens series by Elise Kova - it's a ya fantasy series with magic, libraries, a country at war, and a tall, dark, handsome, broody prince with a traumatic past and fire powers - it's a bit like if ATLA was a ya fantasy novel. I recommend it to literally everyone, it's not super well known but it's ELITE.
Unpopular book opinion - okay I have so many but I'm just going to rip the bandaid off and give you some of the more controversial ones from popular booktok books right off the bat. Rhysand is toxic, Nesta is a QUEEN, Maxon is a bit of a dog and not the perfect little cinnamon bun everyone thinks he is, Shatter Me is one of the worst written books I've ever read (the incessant nonsensical metaphors? the repetition? the continuous crossing out of text?), Aelin is immature and annoying, and I can't stand The Cruel Prince or literally any of the characters in it.

Outside of books/tiktok, I love sports (I play netball, and watch netball, afl and cricket - my sports are very aussie orientated), photography, fashion, writing, visiting museums, picnics and walking my dog.

An under hyped book I really like is Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon. It’s ya novel about a 17 year old girl who has the Sever Combined Immunodeficiency desease, this causes her to be kept inside her house, and not being allowed outside. One day she meets a boy and when she tells her she has a new medication the two go to Hawaii.
My unpopular book opinion is that some books like acotar, etc, are way to overhyped on tiktok😳 (might be because I haven’t read them yet..)

It has fantasy, modern day elements and romance all in one, and I absolutely adore the whole series.
My unpopular opinion would be that the Invisible life of Addie LaRue is overhyped. It has beautiful writing, but I felt it was lacking in character development and story building. Couldn’t really connect to Addie when we didn’t get to see much of her life before she made the deal. And then I didn’t feel there was enough explanation and development towards her and the shadow and it was lacking those elements to really see the characters grow and everything.
I’m currently reading A Court of Wings and Ruin. Finally seeing what all the hype is about when it comes to that ACOTAR. I can see why people enjoy the series so much as there good elements, but I also know there’s a lot of problems with the series and the author.
