I just wanted to add, I am not going to check in with you or "make sure" you abiding by the rules and doing as I posted above. There really are no rules. I am providing us with the group, and the sources to get together and collaborate. I will be conducting a lot of online marketing (my specialty) to draw in readers and writers to the event. What you do with the opportunity is up to you :) Make it count and have fun with it!

You will be responsible for 1 thread during the convention. This thread will be your "booth". Your goal should be to drive people to your website and to recommend/promote 2 to 3 other authors at the convention. Also, you will need to help advertize the event to your readers.
Timothy is designing banners for the convention and, I hope by 23 January, they will be available. You will be giving the JPEG to load to your website to draw in your readers.
your goal is to "bring your readers" to the convention where they can discover new authors and possibly win free books :)
Here is what YOU need to do to prepare:
1 - Plan a giveaway, event, or activity on your thread. This can be whatever or however much you want. Be sure you don't plan more than you can handle.
2 - Find two to three authors to promote (mostly you'll just need to be ready to say, "Hey! While you're here, did you check out this author next door?" and that's it.)
3 - Let your readers know we're holding a convention. Encourage them to come by saying, "a lot of authors are offering giveaways" and they are!
4 - Determine what you are going to offer on your thread that will draw readers to your website and back to your thread at the convention. KEEP IT SIMPLE. Cyber Surfing Fact: The harder something is online, the most likely you will lose the surfer.
That's it!
