Tawny groaned as her alarm went off. She rolled out of bed and into the shower. Barely managing to catch the bus to the first day of her sophomore year. She leaned her head back on the seat, closing her eyes.
Delilah stepped onto the bus, keeping her eyes down and her shoulders up, trying to bunch herself up into the smallest ball imagineable. Her brother, Daimian followed her, but stared defiently at any of the other occupants, as if daring them to make the first move in tantalizing he or his sister.
((ACK!!! SORRY!))
Tawny saw the girl and her over protective brother. She had seen this girl at orientation. now what was her name? she thought to herself, "oh! Delilah! hey! Want to sit with me?" She asked, a warm and welcoming smile emerging on her face.

Delilah jumped at the voice calling her name. That was Tawny, the girl that sat to her left, behind her in math class. and then on her right in english. oh, and she was in PE with her. She glanced nervously back at her brother who shrugged before hesitantly sitting next to Tawny.Daimian sat across from them but stared out his window, oblivious to the world.
"Hey! You looked like you needed some saving from tall, dark, and possessive." she smiled, eyeing Delilah's brother. "Long time no see! what have you been up to?" She asked smiling to the still shy looking girl.
((sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry!!!))Tall, dark, and possesive...? oh. Daimian.
"Nothing. You?" Delilah asked, keeping her thoughts to herself, glancings subtly over at her brother once more for reassurance.
((it's totally fine! i understand you've probably been really busy!))
Tawny smiled and leaned back, "Not much. Lots of away camps. Lots of reading and listening to my music. Lots of drawing. The usual. Are you ready for your first day as a Sophomore?" she asked excitedly.

"I'm actually still wondering why I got out of bed." Delilah admitted. "This year is going to be insane."
"Yes. Yes it is." Tawny smiled, "But at least we get to hang out! We seem to be in plenty of classes together." tawny said, and leaned her head back against the seat.
"Yeah." Delilah agreed almost sullenly. she had always been the quiet 'stay-in-the-shadows' kind of girl.Which was why it was good to have Daimian around: he made a tall shadow to hide in... "I hear Mr. Adams, our math teacher, is brutal with homeowrk."
"Eh, i'm not worried. I;m good at homework. I really should be in a higher math, but my teacher had something against me so kept me back." Tawny smiled brightly.
"Who, Ms. Palmer? I honestly think that she was sent to earth in a space ship. her entire life goal has been to torture and eat any children who don't do their homework..." Delilah scoffed witha roll of her eyes.
Tawny looked at her for awhile then busted up laughing, "You are so right! Luckily she had no reason to eat me... I think that is why she didn't like me." Tawny looked thoughtfully upwards, stroking her chin sarcastically.
"I was chewed on for a while before she released her creepy clutches. I'm so glad that that year is gone..." Delilah countinued.
((please be on? Yup! i'm on!))
"Me too. I'm also glad that she only teaches freshmen. What class are you looking...." she trailed off as they pulled up to the school.
"Me too. I'm also glad that she only teaches freshmen. What class are you looking...." she trailed off as they pulled up to the school.
Delilah glanced over and gave a small , tentative smile. "Writing. I can't wait." she replied simply before stepping into her brothers shadow and disapearing once more.
Tawny got a very uneasy feeling about this girls brother, "H... hey Delilah? Would you like to go with me up to the school? I think we have first hour together anyway." she smiled.
Daimian glanced at his sister wairily. There was ntohing he could do about class time, but he always protected his sister when he could. most the weirdos that tormented her got her in the morning. Even Delilah seemed hesitant as they got off the bus. she looked at her brother helplessly, already nervous.he was the one to glare of threats, to fight off freaks. What if Kara andher teasing group came around with out Daimains shadow to hide in? What if Jordan and his group came around and there wasn no one to glare them off. she gulped."Maybe I could tour you two around first. Delilah's nervous." Daimain suggested, his tone slightly gruff,a bit paranoid, but almost nice.
Tawny shot Daimain a look, "What, scared she will get hurt if you let her go with me?" she motioned to herself. Tawny was tall, but built like an athlete. She was strong and intimidating and was not one to be messed with, "She will be fine with me." Tawny changed the look to an utter glare, challenging his remarkable well. She stood her ground when they got outside.
Daimain immediatelyreturned the glare and Delilah shuffled nervously between the two."I'm sure he didn't mean that--" she tried to say.
"Yeah, what I meant was that your friend here is spolied and stupid." Daiman interupted, motioning at Tawny.
"Spoiled... Stupid..." she said thoughtfully. Tawny simply looked Daimain over a couple times before a huge smile erupted on her face, "Really now? Well then, if i'm so stupid, why do i have a 4.02 GPA and a black belt in three types of martial arts?" she asked , knowing he wasn't specifically talking about grades. "I lived in the ghetto the first half of my life so i am very street smart as well. Now being spoiled.... If you consider having enough clothes to not look poor, having a house and food and a warm bed spoiled, Then you sir are just as spoiled as me." she said in a perfectly calm voice.
((i think Daimain and Tawny should end up together.))
((i think Daimain and Tawny should end up together.))
((me too!))"Kid, you might have done all those things an you might not've, but you ain't been through half of what we have. So shut your supposedly smart mouth and leave me and my--"
"Daimian." Delilah said quietly. "I'll be ok." she gave her brother a quick hug and left him fumeing. As Tawny began to follow Delilah turned and glared. "I didn't say I wanted you to come either." she said impassivly.
((YAY!!!))
"You didn't have to. I know your short tempered brother wouldn't want you to be alone on your first day. Besides. I told you our first hour was the same. I have all of my stuff." tawny pointed to her bag. She wasn't angered by either Delilah or her brother. he thought he was so big and tough, protecting his little sister, calling Tawny names to prove he was better. She didn't need to show him up just to prove her life sucked more. If his really did suck more, his problem. And Delilah was just upset that Tawny had set of her brother. She got that and held no grudges to either.

Delilah rolled her eyes but didn't say anything. she was the silent type and became strong in that way.**
Daimain clenched his fists together and shoved them into his pockets. That tawny was being a little brat, probably planning to get at his sister... that made him nervous.
((to be countinued...))
Tawny smiled and walked up and past Delilah, "See you in class Della." she said in a sincere voice. She looked down towards Daimain and gave him a breathtaking smile, turned around, and walked into the building.
Daimain shook his head, shouldered his back pack and slouched into the school.**
Delilah stumbled up to her locker and awkwardly spun in the code, consulting a paper for the right digits.
Tawny bounded up to her locked and got it open right away. she stuffed her clothes for basketball in it and her other unnecessary articles of class work.
After manageing to grab all of her supplies she'd need for her first class. Delilah raced off to drop off her stuff.
Tawny chuckled warmly, "Not to bad though i hope. I would like to give your bro a good report," she said sarcastically.
Tawny gave her a look of complete boredom. "Yeah. Sure, big bro is just jumpy, that is why he insulted me." she smiled.
tawny shook her head. before she could dish out another smart remark, the teacher called roll and started class.
Tawny was answering questions left and right, and trying to get Delilah to participate, "Why aren't you even trying?" she asked, utterly confused.
DElilah sighed."You know when people are really good at thing, and they show off their talents? but when they are bad at things, they keep low and try to be invisable, so they don't embrass themselves?" Delilah showed Tawny her notes she had been taking. "I try. I'm just not very good yet."
Tawny watched her carefully for awhile then nodded, going back to her notes, asking and answering questions.
