In the sci-fi/fantasy fiction novel, The Vampire Academy: The Blood Promise, Rose's conflict is that her true love, Dimitri, is a strigoi and his family is trying to convince everyone that he's dead because they wont accept him as strigoi since they are really dangerous. Rose Hathaway is a teenage dhampir just wanting to know that Dimitri is ok and safe. Dimitri's sister states,"Not to them.Out here... out in these villages... theres no in between state. Your alive or you're dead (117). This shows that they have no choice but to tell everyone that Dimitri's dead. This proves that Dimitri is strigoi and in hiding because hes scared that no will accept him as a strigoi which is true. Overall, Dimitiri is a strigoi, Rose wont let that get in the middle of their relationship.
In the book Not Guilty a realistic fiction novel bu George Sullivan it is about a separate story of 5 people who went to jail but who were really innocent I think that the author tried to teach us is that you shouldn't blame something one someone with out proof of them committing it. For example in one of the story Marry Surratt was accused in being involved in Abraham Lincoln's assassination and was questioned about it but in the text it said that "no evidence exists that she was at all involved in the conspiracy."(91) This proves that the author was teaching us that we shouldn't blame things on other people with out proof. This also shows that the author wanted us to understand that the person you could be blaming could actually be innocent and might not have been involved in the crime at all. Therefor the author was showing us a example of a real event of what could happen if you blame something on someone with out any proof.
In Mike Lupica's realistic fiction novel, Heat, an important moment in the text was when Michael, the protagonist, was making his dad proud by being a part of the Major Leagues in baseball. Before, Michael's dad's wish was that he wanted his son to pitch in the MLB. Michael worked hard to achieve his dad's wishes, but after his dad passed away, he thought that his dad would never see him play in the Major Leagues and that he broke his father's wish. Later in the book, Michael learns about ghosts and how they watch over people. Throught the story, Michael joins the Little League Series and work up to the Major League Series and make his dad's wish come true. At the end of the book, Michael is now a part of the Major Leagues. He is determined to win this game for his father. Furthermore, the book states, "He thought of all the ghosts El Grande talked about now, the ones who were supposed to be smiling tonight as they watched him, knowing those ghosts had been joined by one more tonight: His father. Heard his father saying, Now you're pitching." (220). This shows that everybody Michael knows, including his father, is watching him perform the biggest moment in his life. This proves that Michael finally made his father's wish come true and is about to make his dad proud. Overall, Michael worked very hard all through the story to achieve what his dad wished for. Then at the end, the time came for Michael to grant his father's wish.
