Introduce yourself :) Do you blog? Post on YouTube? Both? Tell us anything you feel comfortable sharing so we can all get to know each other!

Stephanie Labarta (areadersoasis) Hello Everyone,
My name is Stephanie and I have a blog on wordpress which is readersoasis.wordpress.com. I write about all books and writing. I'm completely addicted to books :). I'm excited that we're all going to be sharing our thoughts on these books and go through this challenge together. Maybe for one of the topic we can all read the same book like a mini bookclub. Well I look forward to seeing what everyone is reading and what you think. Happy Reading!

I think it would be a great idea for all of us to do a group read for one of the challenges :) I might put up a poll for us to figure out what challenge out of like 5 of them people would be interested in doing a group read for :)

Yeah a poll would be great.

Julie | 6 comments Hello,
I'm excited to do this challenge, I love to read but have not done much the last couple of years. Looking forward to seeing what everyone is reading and accomplishing the goal of 50 books this year. I think a group read would be great.

I will put up a poll later this week with some options for everyone! :) Then we can choose what we want to do a group read for :)

message 8: by Becca (new)

Becca (beccareadingrx) Hey,
I'm Becky and I'm really excited to participate in this challenge. The reason I wanted to do this is because I read more than 100 books a year but there is no rhyme or reason to the books I pick. Some look good on blogs, some are recommended by friends, some I like the covers, and some I just see in the library and they catch my eye. I also want to get through my TBR (physical books and kindle books) and I've found that a lot of my own books meet this challenge. I don't blog or youtube but I do try to leave short reviews on goodreads or amazon. And, of course, I tell my friends!

I think it's totally up to you. I was going to do one book per category to force myself to read more but I thought I would leave that up to people to decide for themselves since everyone reads differently. I personally think it would be more fun to do one per book :)

message 10: by Petra (new)

Petra (chernobylchild) Hello everyone!

I'm Petra. I've been devouring books since forever. Lately I've realized I'm kinda stuck on the sci-fi and fantasy genre. I decided to broaden my horizons cause when I was a kid I used to read books without genre discrimination. Unfortunately I do not blog or do anything creative, mostly because I lack free time. And I sincerely hope I will keep my motivation on a reasonable level.

So thank you Emily for getting us together.

Hope we will all have fun with our challenge.

Alanna | 6 comments Hello everybody!

My name is Alanna and I have a habit of joining Good Reads groups but then not participating in them and I'm determined not to let that happen this time, haha.

message 12: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wmaresca) Hi I am Wendy and this seems like a really fun group. I love reading Challenges and I love reading and always have a book or my ereaders in my hand.

rayo que no cesa (rayoquenocesa) Hello everybody!

My name is Marina and I come from Spain. This is the first time I join a goodreads group (and I don't know exactly how it works). It is also the first time I try to do a book challenge. I haven't been interested before, but when I saw this one I instantly became attracted to it. I also fancy the idea of doing a group read! :)
I don't have a blog (I tried twice but failed) or a youtube channel, but recently I have been following some booktubers.

Happy reading games! And may the books be on your favour!

message 14: by Alea (new)

Alea (b-young) | 5 comments Well, hello ^^ My name is Malin and I'm from Sweden. I do blog about the books I read, but in Swedish.

I want to try to read as many books as posible from the list, though I don't really thing I'm gonna be abel to read them all in one year. But it seemed like a fun challange anyway :)

message 15: by Stacy (new)

Stacy My name is Stacy. Reading is my hobby so I'm always reading. And I love audiobooks so I spend my commute 'reading', too. I'm doing the challenge because my daughter found it and gave it to me with a "Mom, you should do this!!!" plea. She helps me keep track and makes sure I'm not falling behind so it's been a lot of fun.

message 16: by Tabitha (new)

Tabitha (tabithaann) Hey everyone,

I'm Tab - reader, writer, and overall book junkie. I am starting a blog for the gazillionth time (now that my kids have grown up some and don't "NEEEEED!" something every two minutes) ;) I'll post a link when it's up and running.
I love reading challenges and connecting with other readers, so I look forward to my time here. I'm also a total homebody/introvert, so this is the ultimate definition of socializing and making friends for me. Win-win!
~T~

Jo | 2 comments Hello!

I'm Jo - I'm doing the challenge with my office buddies and girlfriend. Not going so well at the moment (only 2 done).

New to the Kindle and loving it so far.

I don't blog about books, but I do blog my own kitting patterns if there's any knitters out there.

Sarah FitzGerald | 1 comments Hi everyone! I'm Sarah. I am doing the challenge and I was excited to find this group. I just finished a book chosen based on the cover, The Lost Art of Reading: Why Books Matter in a Distracted time. I've been enjoying the challenge very much. I am in a PhD history program and so I basically read for a living, but I wanted to branch out and read books outside my field and read for pleasure again. I am looking forward to chatting with you all about books and the joys of reading.

message 19: by Mary Sue (new)

Mary Sue Just finished the entire challenge. I liked that this challenge forced me to read a wide variety of books over the year. Some of may favorites were: The Little Prince, The Friday Night Knitting Club trilogy, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, Animal Farm, Dracula and Oliver Twist. I did have a few misses as well: Naked Lunch, 52 Likes, Emma, Crimes Against My Brother and A Streetcar Named Desire.
