Short stories are awesome quick reads which makes them perfect for reading challenges like this one.

I found it interesting that most of the stories in this collection I wouldn't have thought of as mysteries, at least not in the classic sense.

I expected to like more of the stories, given that it was a "Best of" collection. My two favorite were "So Near Any Time Always" by Joyce Carol Oates and "When They Are Done With Us" by Patricia Smith.

There were a couple others that were OK; the rest didn't really speak to me.

So it looks like this is the topic that won the poll for a group read! WOOOO I will have another poll up either Monday or Tuesday so we can vote on which short story collection we want to read :)

Mary Sue Just finished Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures by Vincent Lam, as part of a personal challenge to read all of the Giller winners in order, and it fit this category as well!
