He expected it, knew it was coming but I don't think he thought it would come from Isabelle. I loved how Anna got involved.
That's one thing I like about Charles, even though he has so much darkness inside him, he still wants to see some good in people, especially an Alpha. I don't think he fully realized how twisted the Chicago pack had become.
Though he knew Isabelle was a bit of a mercenary, I don't think he knew the extent of Leo's acceptance of her sociopathic behaviors. He chose to keep his focus on Leo, thinking he was the most challenging of the two.
I loved how Isabelle completely misjudged Anna and paid the price for it.

Yes! that was awesome. The beyotch got her comeuppance....now we have to see what we can do about the Marrock's old lady....but that is a discussion for another book :-)
Charles has a hard time with his role as Bran's enforcer. I think he wants to give people the benefit of the doubt before he has to disembowel them, lol!

Jonetta wrote: "You two now have me intrigued about this Leah."She's Bran's mate - remember her from
? She's the wolf who attacked Mercy when she first arrived in Montana to get help for Adam.
I read Moon Called in January 2011 so my memory of that is vague. I do remember someone being hostile to her. Thanks for the reminder.
In further books she continues to be an obnoxious hag, especially to Mercy. After reading both series, I really like Bran....his wolf needs a severe talking to for mating with Leah's wolf LOL.

The little details can get away from us sometimes. I'm reading Larissa Ione's latest and had to go back to the previous book to refresh my memory.

I agree, and that's just from the bits and pieces we get of her in the Mercy books. I've never liked her and wondered how someone like Bran could put up with her!

thanks Lauren...I remember reading that now. Hmm...maybe somebody tough enough to depose her will come along...this is fantasy after all :-)
I haven't read the spoiler yet, but she just made her first, and hopefully last, appearance in Cry Wolf. Man, I do not like her at all!
Oh, who am I kidding? I've never met a spoiler I could resist. I was wondering if it was along those lines.
