Flora | 12 comments I looked on imdb yesterday and the infernal devices Clockwork angel is in development for a movie! I'm excited yet sort of scared at the same time. What are your thoughts?

message 2: by Itxamara (new)

Itxamara | 779 comments Movies are a good option even though I feel like if TMI is up for a TV series then so should TID because they sort of go together :) also I feel like it would make much more sense because the books have a lot of details and one book can become 2 seasons :)

message 3: by Alice (new)

Alice hamer | 16 comments they better pick someone HOT to play Will and not a whinny chick to play Tessa. I hope she is a classic Kate Winslet in titanic kinda girl....lol

message 4: by Itxamara (new)

Itxamara | 779 comments Omg yes! Absolutely!

message 5: by Flora (new)

Flora | 12 comments I think that Astrid Bergés-Frisbey might make a good Tessa.

message 6: by Colleen (new)

Colleen Chan | 20 comments I was really looking forward to City of Bones but it really did not meet my expectations, except the casting for MAGNUS
but really, they changed the story a lot, and it affects my opinion of the movie cos the book is awesome on its own
I hope they will do better for The Clockwork series because they CANNOT disappoint me so much again.
So my thoughts on a Clockwork movie?
Just get at least the casting right! lol

message 7: by Flora (new)

Flora | 12 comments I feel the same way!

Alyson Stone (alysonserenastone) | 281 comments I didn't even know it was going to be a movie.

message 9: by MacKenzie (new)

MacKenzie Brewer (Kenziethebookworm) | 5 comments I think even though they didn't do a great job on the movie I think they should still make the rest a movie, not a tv series.

message 10: by Veronica (new)

Veronica They'll probably just murder the story like they always do.

message 11: by emily_cutie13☯ (new)

emily_cutie13☯ | 0 comments I hope they put a really good cast on this movie! I would hate for someone who didn't suit the role of Tessa to play, would definitely ruin my expectations of the movie.

message 12: by Flora (new)

Flora | 12 comments Same here. I'm almost scared to see it when it comes out.

emily_cutie13☯ | 0 comments I know I'm literally dying to see it, so whats your fav series infernal, or mortal ?

message 16: by Itxamara (new)

Itxamara | 779 comments The Infernal Devices is my fav... More my type: classy, old school, sentimental, and dramatic. TMI became annoying because of Clary's recklessness.

message 17: by Flora (new)

Flora | 12 comments Definitely infernal devices. I love the time period it is set in, and the characters are great!

Lamya Al Zadjali (laamyaa) | 5 comments I'm very sad that there will not be a City of Ashes movie :( ! and I know I'm not the only one. I Loved the cast of City of Bones so much, it was the first movie that I felt was very close to the book. Can't believe I will not see them together in a movie again. I've heard they will do The Mortal Instruments TV Series but I'm not excited at all, in fact I felt angry because they promised us to make a second movie now they have canceled it. Please if you hear any new news tell me. Lamyaa xx

message 19: by Katrina (new)

Katrina Oh my gosh, this excites me!!! I liked TID more than TMI (as much as I hate to admit it). If they make it a movie, I hope they don't screw it up like City of Bones... :/

message 20: by Emilia (new)

Emilia (doctorherondale) | 75 comments I'm ready for a TID movie! But I'm so worried about the casting. I have high expectations for Will and Tessa. I hope they don't disappoint.

message 21: by Emilie (new)

Emilie (readingreadingandreading) I totally agree! The movie was awful and not at all like the book

message 22: by Emilie (new)

Emilie (readingreadingandreading) I don't think so I'm only aware of theTMI TV show

message 23: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Gilliford | 15 comments honestly I thing CA shouldn't become a movie or a tv show. it wouldn't turn out very good. look what they did with CoB. some books are just meant to be books, TID being some of them.

message 24: by Maddie (new)

Maddie | 4 comments I feel like they're going to mess it up the way they messed up City of Bones (because it's the same company working on it). I feel like a TV series would be more satisfying.

I totally agree with you. They ruined the book so much and introduced things that happened in the next books. I'm so afraid to see the result of this movie lol.

message 26: by Sasha (new)

Sasha | 175 comments When is the movie coming out cause I need to read the book still may get the book later on this evening but I really don't want them to mess up the movie hopefully they stick to the events that happen isn't the first book and don't add some info that happened in later books

message 27: by Michael (new)

Michael (michjarv98) | 31 comments i don't think we should get a TID Movie because TMI is getting a tv series. i say extend out the series a bit and then after a couple seasons TID should get a spinoff like PLL and Rosewood

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

But rosewood didnt even do well. I want to have high hopes for the TMI series but its hard for me to be excited about it cuz these are my favorite books. The casting isnt great for me, some better than others, and ABC Family is very hit and miss. So even thinking about a TID series makes me cringe. Spinoffs never do well. As for a movie for TID, its the same sort of feelings. the COB movie was decent not great, and not very detailed. Movies are always a disappointment because its the little things we love about the books that are almost impossible to put in the movies. They have to stick to the main points and our favorite parts get forgotten.

message 29: by Shir (new)

Shir Chekol | 11 comments Oh please, I hope they'll cancel the movie! PLEASE. I sooo don't want someone to be Will when he clearly can't:(

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Right! We love him because he is completely unattainable in the real world!! There is no realistic option for a movie. Same goes for Jem! Learn your lesson from COB and leave it alone.

message 31: by Shir (new)

Shir Chekol | 11 comments What is COB?
And yeah, Will is just.. Perfect. And there's no perfect person in the world. Therefore, no one can play Will and no one should create movie to TID

message 32: by Shir (new)

Shir Chekol | 11 comments I think we (the readers) need to make a protest against movies of books!;) We beed to boycott those movies

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

COB stands for city of bones. The cast for that movie wasnt terrible, i loved clary and simon, they just failed on the execution part. I think for non readers iTs a chance for them to be introduced to the shadow world, so i understand the want for the movie, its just painful for us to watch it. However, i can tell you right now if they make it, i will watch it even though i know it will be a disaster. Even though i crtique the movies every time, i still watch city of bones and all the harry potter movies. Its like a compulsion or a train wreck, i cant stop no matter how horriffic.

message 34: by Shir (new)

Shir Chekol | 11 comments Me too! I just know I will watch and regret every second in my life that I did it.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Absolutely its a vicious cycle.

message 36: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I was really excited for the show, cuz many people I knew said it was going to be "loyal to the books", but then I saw several sneak peeks and they're nothing like the books. I don't like the cast for Jace. No. No. No. Personally, based on the TV show cast, I like the actor for Alec better than Dom for Jace.

I love Jamie. His acting wasn't well, it seemed to gloomy and dreary to be Jace in the movie, but the actual Jamie Campbell Bower seems really fun. And I ship him with Lily Collins so much. It's my own real life ship.

Yeah, I know right? I will watch the show and complain about it, but I will keep going to see if there is anything like the books. I heard that Alec has a fiancee and that Michael Wayland is alive in the movie. What?! That is.....just no. Stop it.

Another thing I like for movies/shows is that they would have an actor, and from then on when I think of that character I would think of the actor instead of what I had imagined before. And many times that would be a disappointment. Will is my brain is much better than any actor. I just know it. No offense to those people making the shows and movies, but they should just stay away from our beloved books and characters.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes! I agree. I also realky liked jamie and lilly more than the clary and jace they were trying to be. Although i thought lilly collins did an amazing job with clary and so did robert sheean with simon. I wish they would have been cast for the show. I might be a little more excited. Lol.

message 38: by Michelle (new)

Michelle :D Yeah. Who did you like better as Jace: Dom or Jamie? I liked Jamie. Just based on looks btw, b/c we haven't seen Dom's acting yet.

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

Right... i like jamie better, everyone says he doesnt fit the description but i think he does. For the most part anyways. I mean jace is fictional so his beauty is perfection in the books, and perfection doesnt exist in the real world. His looks were made up so of course you wont find someone who fits exactly. But one thing that i always remember about book jace is his cheekbones and jamie definitely has those!!!

message 40: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Yup definitely. But the Jace that Jamie portrayed isn't that well. Based on looks, he's the perfect match. And I feel like the actual Jamie seems more like Jace than how he was in the movie. These cheekbones!

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Right! there is definitely such a thing as too much brooding! He was much too depressive and not playfully sarcastic enough! I understand that it must be a fine line to balance on, but isnt that what he is getting paid for? lol. There is dry humor and then there is what Jamie did in the movie, big difference!!

I dunno, I'm just really nervous about the show, ABC family is definitely hit and miss and I want to see the show do well, even if I dont love it. I want other people, non readers specifically, to fall in love with the world any way they can.

message 42: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I wish that more people would read the books. Some might just watch the show and not read the books. For me, the whole point of the show is to promote the books. And kind of see real people portray amazing fictional (they're not fictional to me) on screen.
Anyone know when the New York comic con is? I really want to see the Lady Midnight cover! They're releasing it on that day when the shadowhunters crew go to the convention. Cassandra Clare will be there! Really wanna go. Live too far away. Sigh

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

I feel the same way!! But I also know a lot f people who just dont read and I think the overall story line is amazing and if the show or movies are the only way people will be able to experience the world that I love then so be it.

I literally live on the other side of the country in Oregon. Going would be amazing tho!!
