Heartless was an enjoyable read. Read it when it came out in 2016. I love re-tellings

So excited to read this! For those people who read it, what did you think about the ending? Please mark them as spoilers

(view spoiler)[ Jest’s death definitely saddened me, and I was a bit annoyed that Cath returned to the palace at the end and chose revenge over her own happiness. She didn’t have to marry the King (her parents said so themselves later on) and I was kind of hoping she’d open up a bakery. But then again we wouldn’t have a Queen of Hearts if that happened. It’s crazy how everything bad pretty much happened because of a bunch of pumpkins. (hide spoiler)]

I agree that it’s well written. It’s a great fairy tail retelling, that’s definitely worth reading!

I have to admit that as far as retellings go, this isn't my favourite. I think I was just with an naive heart when I read this and the ending broke me.

The characters were all so beautifully written and yes, it's not the best in retellings but my whole world shattered when i read the ending
It was so sad!

I knew it was a retelling of Queen of Hearts, so in hindsight I should have known about the ending since the Queen of Hearts is like that in Alice in Wonderland, but I still somehow failed to see it and it broke my heart.

i know! but i was still kinda expecting it would go in a more positive way towards the end :(

There's something about sad books, you don't want to read them but you somehow can't not read them

I loved this book so much! But the ending broke me, even though I was prepared. I mean, it was about the Queen of Hearts so I knew the story was going to be sad because of the way she is in Alice in Wonderland. But I was still heartbroken.
