Sacha Gilbert | 28 comments This book is composed of a 12 part series of comics released over the course of 13 months. With the first comic being released back in 1986, I was not entirely familiar with this story. It was only when I discovered the HBO series titled "Watchmen" that I was made aware of this DC Comics story. Though the TV show and comics follow completely different stories, they are both part of the same universe.

In the comics, we follow the stories of a few characters, most notably including Rorschach, a ruthless vigilante who fights crime despite it being outlawed, and Dr. Manhattan, an isolated man who'd had his body torn to pieces in a science lab, creating the "most powerful" superhero.

In the story, we follow Rorshach, who is convinced that the members of the "Crimebusters," a group of superheroes who had once banded together, were being killed off by somebody. In this story, the U.S. is also dealing with tensions with the Soviet Union. Rorschach investigates the crimes against his former teammates and comes to uncover more than he had intended to.

The graphics of this comic book series were illustrated by Dave Gibbons with lots of details, yet still minimalistic enough to give you the comic book feeling. I appreciated both the story and the illustrations and the amount of work that was very clearly put into it. 9/10.
