Josie | 25 comments Okay guys, so as part of NaNoWriMo (which I didn't finish btw, but it was still fun) I began writing a story which is for now dubbed Saving Grace. It will be about a normal girl, Sam, and her eccentric friend, Lila Grace, who live in a small town in Washington and have been friends since they were very little even though they have little in common. They have just finished their senior year of highschool and before they go off to college or whatever they're going to do, they are taking a road trip across the U.S. When they're almost at their destination (Florida, I think, maybe), they stop at a road stop to use the bathroom and all that and Lila disappears. Nobody can find her. They contact the police and send out search teams but Lila is nowhere to be found. Sam returns home to their families and tries to comfort Lila's parents, and her own mom, since they were very close. For an ending I'm thinking that one day Sam goes down to the town cemetery to see a grandmother's grave or something....and Lila's is there. Someone buried Lila in her own town's grave after taking her while she was thousands of miles away. That means the culprit knew her. And her family. And probably Sam. Who would he go after next?

I'll post the first chapter if anybody is interested. :)

Colby (colbz) | 3211 comments It sounds interesting, but that ending is probably not the most realistic? I don't really think you can just go down to the local cemetery and make a new grave without the groundskeepers noticing, at least the next day. I definitely see the shock factor you're going for there, but some explanation would need to happen as to how he did it if you want the ending to work. :D

Josie | 25 comments Okay, thank you! I may change the ending all together, who knows haha. Its just an idea. I have the chapters I've written so far up on my writing now if anyone goes to my profile. They're not very good, and need major revisions, but they're there :).

If you want more people to read it, I'd recommend posting a link in this topic. That way people can find it more easily. :)

Also I agree with Colby––I don't really understand the grave thing? Do you mean someone buried her in the graveyard with a grave with her name on it? Because yeah, I don't think someone could get away with that. Also I don't think a murderer would do that because then that would probably make it easier for the police to narrow down the suspects and find them. I'm also kind of unclear as to where the story ends––it sounds like more of a beginning to a story than the whole thing, if that makes sense. Like, I'd still want to know if she ever found out what happens and who the murderer is (especially if it might be someone she knows).
