P E R S O N A L ;

appearance::
A lot have people have said that he looks a lot like Jack Falahee, but he's never seen a picture of the guy. Maybe this Jack character looks like Icarus, and not the other way around. With that in mind, he's also been told he's very quite attractive, and that has always worked to his advantage in his line of work. His hair is a tawny sort of brown, but dark. It's rich and shiny, and lord knows it takes him a while to get dressed because of it. His eyes are equally brown, but warm and homey--trustworthy looking. Just under his right eye is a beauty mark, not totally noticeable, but still there. He stands at six foot one, and weighs roughly a hundred ninety pounds. He looks a little scrawny, but that's about as deceiving as his words. The point is not to be imposing, and it works.

you're fucking shittin' me right now, right?
Icarus is nothing like that disgusting Disney depiction they used in that old Hercules movie. Really? A nerd with terrible hair? That's definitely not him; no, he's the devil in disguise. Well, not totally. He can be sweet and kind, but most times he's in it for his own gain. He's as cunning as a fox, mind faster than a whip. Persuasive, to boot. They never said the devil would try to sell you something you don't like, and Icarus has a way of knowing what everyone likes. He's too observant for his own good, but also for his own good, in a way. If he finds out something about you that might not be common knowledge, he knows he has something to play later on.

He's trained himself to be patient and charming, the kind of person people enjoy being around. But he also knows when to be impatient and pushy. He's an ever changing person, always moving to fit the flow of the con. The one thing that remains constant his greed. Sure, he loves the thrill of life and the conning, but the money is always the best part. He's been aiming high for quite some time, and his greed has only brought him to his current point. If he wasn't so greedy, he might not be in the position he's in now.

B I O G R A P H Y ;

history
Icarus wasn't born into any sort of difficult situation. No, his father was a veteran who was pretty well off, and his mother was a working secretary. The two had ample time to spend with him, which they did. Maybe they were spending too much time with him, because he found himself loathing them more and more each day. His mother was too doting, his father overly confident in him. But, when he turned ten, his father decided he no longer liked his attitude. Thus began his years in an officially military household.

His mother, also a veteran, quit her job and transferred to a naval base in Texas. Fucking Texas. Ic was left with his father to take care of him, who drilled him at all times. He was to say "yes, sir," "no, sir," and everything else his father told him. If he didn't get it right, he got two laps around the block, fifty sit-ups, and fifty push-ups. It was suffice to say that first six months was hellish on the chubby Ic of the past. He might be in a bit more shape now than he was then. but he still feels he wouldn't be able to get through the workout without a sweat. His father, while still proud of him, was incredibly strict. His television time was cut down, his friends were now on a back-burner, and his homework was like the new Jesus.

Through all of this, Icarus grew to love his mother. She wrote to him often, keeping him informed and asking how he was. He realized that she was only so doting because she knew of the world, or something profound like that. She probably would be shocked to see where he is now, what he's done. He doesn't like to think of that too much. So, he found himself loving the absent parent, and loathing the one around him. Being the little shit he was, he found it easy to be disrespectful to the man raising him. Did he ever learn from this? No; his punishments usually left him too tired and sore for brain function. Running does that to you.

As Icarus entered high school, he took to spending time away from people. People that just didn't get that hey, look, both my parents are vets and I'm in a living hell, because he happened to have both his parents. Those around him either had one parent, one in jail, dead or just not around, and those might have been the lucky ones. So, he certainly tell anyone about the black eye he got when his father shoved him in a push-up. That was accident, even if he wanted it to be otherwise. If people found out about the way his father was then deteriorating, there'd be a call to his mother and that might break her heart. War hardened veterans had hearts, too, as he could recall.

So, he stuck his head in books and kept away from people. Until he met Lucy, who was a fucking bad bitch. And not in the sense that she was a bitch; she just smoking hot. He was one of the guys falling at her feet. So when she asked him to Sadie Hawkins in their sophomore year, he was quick to say yes. He didn't expect much from his side of the deal, since he didn't think he was cool, but her friends suddenly thought otherwise. Sadie Hawkins came and went, and he was being surrounded by people. He suddenly had--wow--friends. But, that was a lie. A prank, a joke, a scam, a play. She played him like a fiddle, and walked off with an A in nearly every class. Skank.

The one good thing, he thinks, that happened because of that little mishap with Lucy Schnieder was that he became interested in conning. Hey, he'd been the mark of one, so why not learn about the thing that happened to him? His interest piqued, he went on a research binge, and found what he thought was his true calling. Soon after, he began conning people left and right, failing sometimes, succeeding most times. He liked the way his heart raced when he went through with a con, got the last bill in his hand. He liked the smell of money, too, the feel of it in his fingers. Soon enough, he was the kid everyone knew, talked about, but was in awe of all the same. He ran through girls--and a few guys--like a child would run through paper towels, and he loved it.

Fast forward to the present, to the reason he's now conning his way into hiding. He pissed off some serious people, serious as in dangerous. He knew it would be bad if he screwed up, but told himself he wouldn't. Icarus knew he should've stayed away from politicians like Joseph Biggs and the probable mafia member Johnny Wright. What kind of mafia name is Johnny-fucking-Wright anyways? He hadn't thought that much of it, but maybe he should have. Being thrown in a black sedan and handcuffed to a wooden chair is never a fun experience, as he'd enlighten you about. Icarus, being a conartist, found another way out of the whole ordeal of handcuffs, but not without getting a fist to the face and a bat to the side.

Now, now he's gonna learn what it's like to run again.
