Suggest some books to be the book of the month for August! Each person can only suggest up to 2 books.

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) Hey, not to be rude or anything, but shouldn't we choose one for August since July is almost over? Of course if we're reading it in july then that's okay as well.

Keira (lovetoreadthrillers) | 392 comments Mod
Oh damn I was meant to write August. I'll fix it. I'm still tired!

message 4: by Keira (new)

Keira (lovetoreadthrillers) | 392 comments Mod
Done! XD Thanks.

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) No problem.
Are there any rules for the books?
Like release dates or genres or anything?

message 6: by Keira (new)

Keira (lovetoreadthrillers) | 392 comments Mod
They have to be YA, obviously. Fiction, mystery, thriller and fantasy. At the end, I will choose three books for August to read. You only have to choose one.

message 7: by Ave (new)

Ave (ave1) | 27 comments I’m gonna have to suggest Avalon by mindee arnett

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) I can't choose between Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder Graceling (Graceling Realm, #1) by Kristin Cashore Incendiary (Hollow Crown, #1) by Zoraida Córdova
All of them have been on my tbr shelf.

message 9: by Keira (new)

Keira (lovetoreadthrillers) | 392 comments Mod
Neither an I!! Ahhh! You can choose 2 of them, which means we need to eliminate one.

message 10: by Felix (new)

Felix Fiction, mystery, thriller, and fantasy, hmm. Well, a lot of the YA books I read are romance. I've always been meaning to read Truly Devious, though, so I'll suggest that.

message 11: by Keira (new)

Keira (lovetoreadthrillers) | 392 comments Mod
You can do romance too. I read thrillers with romance. Just any books as long as they are YA.

message 12: by Felix (new)

Felix Oh, good. Well, I'll go with Truly Devious anyway because I want to read it and I don't think I ever will on my own.

message 13: by Keira (new)

Keira (lovetoreadthrillers) | 392 comments Mod
Okay. I'm writing all the suggestions down.

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) I've read Truly Devious and it was awesome!!
You allowing romance makes this decision even harder!!
What does everyone else think? Which one should I eliminate?

message 15: by Keira (new)

Keira (lovetoreadthrillers) | 392 comments Mod
Personally I say the last one, BUT I want to see what everyone thinks.

message 16: by katie ❀ (new)

katie ❀ (whisperngpages) I’ll suggest The Silence Between Us by Alison Gervais and What I Carry by Jennifer Longo.

message 17: by Jatan (new)

Jatan Kaur (jatan2612) | 65 comments I'll suggest "All the bright places" by Jennifer Niven and "Six of crows" by Leigh Bardugo.

message 18: by Keira (new)

Keira (lovetoreadthrillers) | 392 comments Mod
Thanks, I'll add them!
Also someone help me! I already have 6 books and there will be two more once Trisha decides which 2 she wants to suggest, how am I going to chose 3 of them?

message 19: by Felix (new)

Felix Out of Trisha's, I would personally eliminate Poison Study. That's just my opinion, though. I read the opening of Poison Study and I couldn't stand it. It's Trisha's call, though.

I guess we can vote

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) Yes please vote. I'm very bad at choosing, it already took everything out of me to get to these three. Hold a poll or vote or something because I can't choose!!

message 22: by Felix (new)

Felix Where is Keira? We need that poll created. If Keira will give me permission, I can make the poll, since I'm a mod, if Keira doesn't want to.

Keira (lovetoreadthrillers) | 392 comments Mod
I've messaged you with the details of stuff.

message 24: by Felix (new)

Felix I see that now. I just answered.

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) Hey, is there a specific place we're reading and discussing the BOTMs?

message 26: by Keira (new)

Keira (lovetoreadthrillers) | 392 comments Mod
here if you like

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) Okay!!
Also, is it okay if I don't read Truly Devious again? I read it quite recently, and I really don't want to reread it so soon. I'd love to discuss it anyway.

message 28: by Keira (new)

Keira (lovetoreadthrillers) | 392 comments Mod
Yes. There are 3 books they're in case you have already read one of them or you don't like the sound of them. You only have to read one of the books. If you would like, you can read 2 of them or all of them.

message 29: by Felix (new)

Felix I'm only going to read Truly Devious; my August reading schedule is packed.

message 30: by Felix (new)

Felix I was wondering if we should have separate topics for each book? That way it's less cluttered, clearer, and we won't spoil books for people who aren't reading them. What does everyone else think?

good idea

message 33: by Felix (new)

Felix I don't know what Keira thinks of it, though. I don't think anything should be changed without her permission.

laura (plotofgold) | 1177 comments Mod
oh i just added it...

message 35: by laura, procrastinator- (new)

laura (plotofgold) | 1177 comments Mod

message 36: by Felix (new)

Felix I see that. I hope Keira doesn't mind.

message 37: by laura, procrastinator- (new)

laura (plotofgold) | 1177 comments Mod
yea me too...

message 38: by Felix (new)

Felix Maybe you should message her and ask if it's all right?

message 39: by laura, procrastinator- (new)

laura (plotofgold) | 1177 comments Mod
she didn't respond to my old message yet (also should we be talking here?)

message 40: by Felix (new)

Felix (Probably not. Let's move it to the mods' chat.)
