Before and After is the "sequel" to Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate. Before and AFter is the real life stories of the now grown children and their families that were affected by Georgia Tann and the Tennessee Children's Home Society.

After the release of Before We Were Yours, Lisa received so many emails and letters from people who believed or who knew they were a part of this "scandal". Lisa was encouraged to write a 2nd book telling these stories. Lisa enlisted the help of journalist Julie Christie to help her. This research and these stories led to many book talks by Lisa and ultimately a TCHS reunion for these children and their families.

I loved this book as much as I loved the fiction story. These stories were so true and genuine. They told of heartbreak, love and sometimes the feeling of never feeling like they belonged. They also led to discovering their biological families and of so many reunions.

Lisa and Julie did a wonderful job with this book. I highly recommend it, but I think you should read Before We Were Yours first.

I liked this one too. It was shocking what Georgia Tan got away with.
