I'd like to recommend this book for this category - the author is a young lady of 15 or so who writes about living an entire year by the guidelines of a 1950's etiquette book. Lots of fun!

Lucy Knisley is another author people might enjoy. She JUST turned 30 this January, so anything published before this year fits the category!

Another suggestions : If anyone is interested in reading The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, Hugo wrote it before he was 30.

thank you!!
I just read a terrific detective novel, Last of the Independents, by Sam Wiebe. Not sure how old the author is - the protagonist is 29. Anyway, it's set in Canada, so I cleared that hurdle. Mainly I took an editorial consultant gig, and a lot of the books I've read lately aren't yet published. MY book came out this year, so that's my 2015 book, except I haven't read it this year. So many categories. Anyway, I don't know how old she was, but Patricia Highsmith's debut was Strangers On A Train, which I compare favorably to Gone Girl, and I liked Gone Girl. So, there's a summary all under one category. Hasta.

Hinton fits that mold as well. The author was 17 when she wrote it. Amazing book if you've never read it. Short too. Coming of age novel easy to identify with.
