IGGPPC : Iggle BookWorms discussion

As you can see this group has been quiet for a while now.

While we are dusting off the bookshelves ready to start reading our next books, what do YOU want from Iggle BookWorms?

Would you rather we use the discussion boards here or on Discord?

What's the best way to choose our next read?

Would you rather we all read the same book at the same time, or have a monthly theme?

How often should we start a new book?

We used to do extra challenges like PopSugar, would you like us to have extra reading challenges?

We can't guarantee to make everyone happy, but we'd love to hear your ideas!

I would prefer to chat on Discord (maybe have a special server or channel so we don't overwhelm the #amreading channel), and would prefer a monthly theme (maybe with a few recommended books for the theme?) - but I am 100% sure that whatever you choose to do will be amazing! :D

I don't mind doing other readathons as well, but I wouldn't want to limit it to just the Popsugar challenge. We could do a section of "Other readathons" Where each readathon people would like to discuss can get a topic?

The suggested bookworms-readalong-channel for discussion at Discord is requested! (mods might have to sleep camp off for a bit though, so don't expect it to appear right away)

I think it would be nice to have a place to discuss what we read together. I wouldn't mind discussing here on Goodreads, but it would also be convenient to have a channel or separate server on Discord!

I feel like one book/month would be a good amount. I think it would be easier to have a discussion if we choose a specific book to read together, but if there are enough people having a few books to choose from could also work! I like the idea of having themes that change per month or every few months. Maybe mods could set the theme and then we could suggest and vote or just vote on what book we would like to read within the theme?

If we do end up doing a theme that we choose our own adventure within, maybe the mods could provide discussion questions that would still let us come together and chat? Or we could take turns volunteering as discussion leaders?

I think basically it would be fun to see this as a type of book club with some sort of set structure whether it is a set theme that we come together to discuss once a month or a set book that we read together and discuss.

But I'm with Rhiannon, I'm sure whatever is decided having a space with Iggle readers will be lovely!

I am happy to do anything; I miss finding new books to read! My taste is changing all the time!
