LibraryCin | 11753 comments In July, we collectively read 51 individual titles for "Black lives Matter". Keep in mind, this is individual titles.

See our list here:

Meli (melihooker) | 4165 comments What is the tag with the most individual titles?

I am sure this came up before, but I don't recall what the tag was.

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11172 comments Wow that's more than I expected. I imagine the total #books read is higher, since we had group reads.

Total number is always higher, but I don't take the time to figure that out.

The "special" (additional) tags usually don't get as many as our regular month tags.

We have all the numbers listed in a thread called "Past Play Book Tag Themes". It's the second message in the thread.

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

The additional tags (like "black lives matter" are listed with **. We've done a few others, Black lives matter had the most read at 51. Debut in 2009 had 50.

The other two times we've done it, each admin got to choose a tag, so we had 4 additional tags in those months, people chose, so the most one of those had was 21 (ghosts), with "mothers and daughters" at 20.

LibraryCin | 11753 comments Overall, for the monthly tag, it looks like we've had 6(? may have miscounted, but that's close) months where we read over 200 individual titles.

The most:
December 2008: Mystery: 233 books read

Most of our 200+ months were in 2008/2009. Others over 200 include: Chick lit, History, Suspense, Young Adult, and Female Author.

Not blowing any records then.

Not when compared to the regular monthly tag, but still the most we've read when we've done an extra tag.

I think it did beat a couple of the monthly tags (usually places have fewer numbers): New York (tied at 51), China (39), British Literature (48), India (38)... oh, there's more than I thought.

2014, 2015 and 2017 look like slower years. I'd guess we had a smaller number of active members at those times.

LibraryCin | 11753 comments I will probably shelve the "southern" books on the weekend, but that's likely to be over 100, I would guess. Most tags are, especially the past couple of years.

Nicole D. | 1573 comments I didn't get my last review in, but read Native Son and it was the perfect book for the topic.

There are 76 threads in the folder, so, subtracting a few for the buddy reads threads and this one, the group probably read 70 total books!

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11172 comments I think that's great considering we had two tags, and BLM books aren't as easy to read as say mysteries or witches. When I read How to be an Anti-racist, I needed to stop after each chapter to think and reflect.

LibraryCin | 11753 comments Ok, I deleted my comment.

I reread Nicole's, and must have just read through it too quickly earlier and didn't catch that she was answering Nancy's musing...

Oops! My apologies for not reading close enough!

Ah, sorry Nicole. I even wondered if I was doing the shelving a bit too early. I usually wait for a weekend, but I'm on holidays and had time and motivation to do it that day!

Nicole D. | 1573 comments Please don't worry, I waited too long and the review was out of my head!
