Katherine Decker I'm also going to read this book for Week 8- I work in a library, and lots of patrons have been recommending it.

I finished it last night and I really enjoyed it. Thanks!

****Kelly***** | 9 comments My mom has the audiobook and i started it. Does anyone else think that she was complaining a bit to much about writing this book?

Jasmine (pikakejazz) I am definitely gearing up to read this one. Super excited!

I have only read the intro so far, and I agree that she seems like she's complaining about writing quite a bit. Hopefully that doesn't go on for much longer? I mean, I can see why it would be hard for her, yes, but it comes off as a "woe is me, I am too busy and successful and rich for my own good" type thing.

Tara | 22 comments I am going to read this one too! I downloaded the audio book because I heard it was really great

JackAttack Got this book from the library in time! Will be reading it for this week :)

Jennifer Van Beveren | 93 comments Just finished this - I loved it! It was faced paced and funny. In parts I could picture her reading this as Leslie Knope!

JackAttack And done!

OK anything written by Amy Poehler is going to be hilarious - that did not disappoint. Some of the sections absolutely killed me, specifically the message from Amy to her hospital concerning the birth of her first kid.

Had some issues with the organization of the book, though. Kind of felt it was too random with no specific structure. Also, I know I would have enjoyed this book much more had I kept up with Parks and Rec :)

Jennifer Van Beveren | 93 comments Lol I koved the letter to the hospital! I kept laughing out loud as I was reading it. But you're right Jacki it was a little random

Jasmine (pikakejazz) Finished!

I really loved the chapters of her viewpoints on sex, being a working mom, technology, and her boys. I thought the recap of her career was interesting, but not super ha-ha funny.

I wasn't super thrown off by the organization of the book, but I admit I was a little shocked by all of the drug use (...maybe I shouldn't be...?) but I really appreciated that she included a chapter on why/how NOT to use drugs (and I liked the humor she brought with that, too).

My conclusion is that I still love Amy Poehler! (I'm a huge fan of her work on Parks and Rec and what little I saw of her on SNL, but now I'm curious about all of her UCB sketches...It would be interesting to look up some of her old SNL stuff, too...)

My full review here.

Jasmine (pikakejazz) Also, side note: now that there's been so many memoirs by famous comediennes, I really want to see one of them (Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Mindy Kaling, SOMEBODY) write a full-length fiction novel. Someone needs to get on that, amiright?

Suze Bryant | 7 comments I listened to the audio book of this, and finished it today. I loved hearing her read it so, so, much.
