I read this book when I was younger (probably 10 or 12 so 92-94). I remember loving it, but can't remember the full plot. I just know it involved a group of friends living together in an apartment. I believe it was set in NYC, but I'm not 100% on that. It was told through at least 2 viewpoints. In my head I see the cover as two girls possible painting? One was wearing overalls and standing on a ladder. I really thought the book was called "the Apartrment," but I've searched for that and the books with that title are NOT what I'm looking for.
