Sharlene Baker | 8 comments Hi! I’ve been furloughed for four months and I’ve just written a cozy. I would love for a cozy lover to read my book, and I wholeheartedly welcome any comments. (I’m really good at subtracting my ego from my writing, and just want you to be honest.) Since I’ve seen other people who post for “Beta readers” (I don’t know what that means) also post a “blurb”, I’ve done my best at writing a blurb which I’ve posted below. Please PM me if you’d like a copy. I would be ever so grateful!

Just to let you know, there are references to sex, but no sexual scenes, no swearing, no violence.

Barred For Life: A Cozy. With Titillation.

When Beatrice Malone, a researcher and Night Tour Guide on the once prison/now National Park of Alcatraz Island finds a body one evening, eight suspects spring to mind. Just as in a small English countryside village, it seems that everyone on the island holds a raft of secrets, all intertwining with each other. How far will Brandy, a transgender woman, go to get the money to transition? What deep family secrets does Park Ranger Betterman know... or not know? Which two people on the island are utter fakes? Did volunteer Gacy Manson’s serial killer obsession finally go too far? What about the two “bros” and their “sleeper” holds? And how does a pleasant, personable dominatrix factor in?

Beatrice is thrown into being an amateur sleuth both on the illustrious island and in the vibrant, charming city of San Francisco. Three prior murders and two suspicious deaths weave into the present, and misunderstandings abound.
