Is it bad I fecking LOVED Dani being snarky to Mac??? LOL Poor Dani when Mac swings her spear at her, she cries and I actually felt her pain.
Such an emotional scene my god!
Then when she blurts out she thinks she deserves to die and all the stuff about Rowena. jesus!!
Mac should've made like the second thing she said to Dani was that she knew Rowena made her do it. I dunno if it would've helped or hurt but like she should've put it on the table lol
I love how Dani wants to make Jo and Ryodan breaking up her first priority, we're on the same page with that one! LOL

The girl fight kinda made me laugh lol, dying to see Barrons break THAT up

and what was up with Rowena saying she found her when she was five!? That makes me think Rowena had a hand in killing her mom!

The Rowena comment thru me big time! Hoping we get more of that dirt. So...I think the prologue is the ALpha alternative to SEx...Barrons view. I never read it before but it felt like that is what it is. So I am confused because I thought that did not actually happen, if it did? Barrons mind wiped her after they had sex is creepy, really creepy. It feels too much like a date rape drug scenario. I really hope Moning did not go there.

I didn't understand why Mac was having such a hard time spitting out the words "I forgive you. It wasn't your fault." She knows it wasn't Dani's fault. Dani wasn't letting her say that much but still, she could have yelled over her or something.. haha..

It is the alternative and he wiped her mind after because he said she wasn't ready to handle what he wanted to give her she wanted him he didn't drug her or coerce her, he gave her what she wanted. He just didn't want her to regret it and that's why he wiped her mind.

I choose to believe it didn't happen. That Barrons saw she wasn't ready and thought he could just erase the memory is NOT sweet to me. It's fucking vile. I hope she doesn't write it into Burned like somehow Mac finds out. gross.

But that makes no sense, its like he knows they had sex and he can high five his buddies and you will never know until you are ready to say YEAH sex with you was the right decision. Its like getting what BArrons wants and not dealing with any real life issues until Mac is ready to just go with it and say YOU KNOW ME BETTER than myself. Creepy.

1) novella: Barrons' POV
2) prologue: Unseelie King's POV
3) chapter 1: Dani's POV

Barrons wipes her memory because that night meant something to him but he could already see her start to regret it because she completely let her guard down. He didn't think she was ready to face it.

That's also one of the things I thought was "lazy" about the book. KMM wrote that novella to fulfill a promise to fans she made on a whim. It almost felt like "hmm I don't have enough pages in this book, let's recycle something I already wrote and write it into the storyline."

And why did BArrons not just voice her to go back to America? He voiced her into forgetting sex with him so obviously he could have just voiced her back to America as well. Right? That's what he wanted. This is not a well thought out plot device.

She was completely vulnerable! doused in grief and reckless. He knew it and preyed on it. Doesn't even give her the decency of coming to terms with what she did, figures he could just wipe it away for her.

I think part of Mac (maybe the sinsar dubh is part of it?) DOES still want to kill her and that's why she hesitates and is in attack stance, and if there's even a part of her that does, Dani is right not to trust her

I think it's because Mac can't come to say it wasn't Dani's fault it was her hand and I think she still struggles with that she knows Dani didn't do it of her own accord but she probably thinks couldn't she have done something?

It's there for a reason you will discover when you read Burned. KMM took out that part at the end of the novella where Barrons was like "Maybe it's true, maybe not" in the book version.

maybe i took it too far but its still way not appropriate. when you do not remember the activity, no consequences from it then i consider it an activity you never really gave consent to then.
@ Shannon-- i can see where this feels lazy too. itss like the guidebook section, calling it new material but just really eating up pages.

I really did LOVE the MAc and Dani interaction. It was fun and exciting. Mac though still seems dumb as a rock sometimes, of course Dani is going to react in terms that she thinks you are going to kill her for her sisters death. I would.

I think it's because he wanted her and couldn't force himself to do it and he thought she had some information on it

I suppose you can see through his novella that he wants her but knows she's not ready for him yet so he's giving her the choice to leave or stay. That will determine his future with her.

She still had the dark lake in her mind at the end of shadowfever she was going to use it to help Barrons put his son to rest but he said no. So I think the dark lake is giving her some new powers without her asking really

I'm assuming there's going to be a lot more of Mac and Dani together, since Mac's the primary narrator and we're lead to believe Dani is also still a primary character.

Girls, I've been gone for a few hours and a new thread pops up!

I read the first chapter from Kobo (thank you Shannon!!) reading it only reminded me of how much I missed Dani's voice! It's darn good to here her again lol. My favorite part was when she talked about making Jo and Ryodan break up her first priority, solely for her personal satisfaction. Someone is having a crush and isn't even aware of it LMaO.

You guys would hate me for that. No way. I will say I've been impressed with Melissa's theories the most. You've been right at least twice. Close or insightful a couple times. Miranda was sort of right one time. The ideas bouncing off each other is helping too.

It's fun but some of the theories are making me think that even though they aren't in this book, maybe they could be in the next one. I almost wish I hadn't read it yet so I could be theorizing with all of you. I hope you are as enthusiastic about theories for Feverborn. We'll need to start that thread asap.

The POV in print now and Dani getting chapter 1!!! EEEKKKKK I need this book now! It completely blew my mind. I had to go back and read it again because I was too excited the first time hahhaha
