Marky Ruzol | 8 comments Hello everyone!

Can you recommend some long cozy mystery series to binge-read on?
If you could also include the number of books in the series.

Been reading Cleo Coyle and Joanne Fluke series.

Thanks!

Nell | 1228 comments Meg Langslow series by Donna Andrews has more than 20 books.
Murder With Peacocks (Meg Langslow, #1) by Donna Andrews

Gaslight Mysteries by Victoria Thompson has 20+ books.
Murder on Astor Place (Gaslight Mystery, #1) by Victoria Thompson

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) If you like Coyle and Fluke you should give Savannah Reid (20+ books plus an offshoot starring her grandmother) a try. Barb turned me on to them.

Barb I'm probably forgetting some, but here are others not already mentioned :

Laura Child's Tea Shop series with 21 books so far.
Jana Deleon's Miss Fortune series with 17 books so far
Carola Dunn's Daisy Dalrymple series with 23 books
Claudia Bishop's Hemlock Falls series with 18 books
Susan Wittig Albert's China Bayles series with 27 books
Rhys Bowen's Molly Murphy series with 17 books
Earlene Fowler's Benni Harper series with 15 books
Sarah Graves' Home Repair is Homicide series with 16 books
Miranda James' Cat in the Stacks series with 14 books so far
Leslie Meier's Lucy Stone series with 27 books so far
Tamar Myers' Pennsylvania Dutch series with 21 books
Ann B. Ross' Miss Julia series with 22 books
Livia J. Washburn's Freshly Baked series with 14 books
Diana Xarissa's Isle of Man series with 21 books
Joanna Campbell Slan's Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-n-Craft series with 14 books + a lot of half-step books

I also have several series with 10-12 books each, but I'm not sure if they would qualify as "long series."

A couple others:

— Aunt Dimity by Nancy Atherton (24 books)
— A Needlecraft Mystery by Monica Ferris (19)
— Scrapbooking series by Laura Childs (16)

If you want to binge-read an author, I suggest Joyce and Jim Lavene, who also published as J.J. Cook. They have numerous series, the longest being their Sharyn Howard series at 12 books.

Which reminds me of another Carolyn, Carolyn Haines, and her Sarah Booth Delaney series, with 22 books.

Sandy | 132 comments Lilian Jackson Braun The Cat Who series around 30

Emily Brightwell Mrs Jeffries 39 Books

and of course Murder, She Wrote.Jessica Fletcher at least 50

message 9: by Lynn (last edited Aug 17, 2020 09:09PM) (new)

Lynn (lynnali) | 524 comments Agatha Christie has 39 books in her Hercule Poirot series and 13 in her Miss Marple series
Rex Stout has 47 books in his Nero Wolfe series
Carolyn Haines has 21 (nearly 22) books in her Sarah Booth Delaney series
Rita Mae Brown has 29 in her Mrs. Murphy series and 13 in her Sister Jane Arnold series. (note: I found the last few Mrs. Murphy books to be really very good; beginning with Tail Gait. I am really excited to get Formidable Foes)

And Marian Babson wrote 45 mysteries, including three limited series. Even the stand-alone books are well worth reading. Sometimes it's nice to have a few non-series books to read as reading "palate cleansers" between series.

fyi - Denise Swanson's Scumble River series has continued with a new publisher as Welcome Back to Scumble River. There are 3 books so far in this renewed series. And her Chef-to-Go series spins off a character from one of the Scumble River books.

Mama Cass aka Bookhugger (mamacass67) | 67 comments I'm searching for a new series, preferably one in Ireland, Scotland or England. Would love if there were cats and little if any, romance. Am grateful for any recommendations!

A Share in Death (Duncan Kincaid & Gemma James, #1) by Deborah Crombie A Share in Death by Deborah Crombie

This is book #1 of 18 (so far). Terrific series set in Yorkshire with romance. Hope you enjoy it!

Have you read Dorothy L. Sayers' Lord Peter Wimsey (NOT Whimsey) series? Golden Age, *wonderful* writing. First one is Whose Body.

If *any* of you haven't read these, I plead with you to do so.

the first one is free on kindle right now- so I am checking it out

Marysia | 103 comments I know the Joanne Fluke Hannah Swensen mysteries are a long-running series but most of the reviews for the newer ones I've seen are bad and that the series has dragged on too long. In your opinion are these still worth starting? Is there a good place to stop before getting to the "bad" ones?

Tammy | 413 comments I have been enjoying the A Bought the Farm mystery series by Ellen Riggs.

Samantha | 640 comments Not sure if this has been mentioned but I just read Mr. Monk Goes to the Firehouse and really enjoyed it. It also was a T.V. series years ago.

message 31: by Carol (new)

Carol Hooper | 55 comments The Seaside Knitters Society Mystery series by Sally Goldenbaum is good.

message 32: by LucyReads (new)

LucyReads The Secrets of the Blue Hill Library by Emily Thomas is a great choice. It's 24 books long, so I'm pretty sure it can be considered a binge-worthy series 😂.
