I'm looking for recommendations for web comics to read. SciFi, fantasy, or horror, any subgenre. My current favorite is Wilde Life but I've love to have a few others to read as well. I prefer art on the more realistic side but surreal is good too. If you have something that you think is excellent but isn't one of those genres I'm willing to check it out too. Bonus points if it has lgbt and/or an otherwise diverse cast of characters.

oh boy...this is a big list
A Girl and her Fed by KB Spangler (Ursula Vernon's editor) is about a telepath and her cyborg boyfriend as they meet ghosts and talking animals.
Tripping Over You is a sweet slice of ife story about two boys in love.
Questionable Content is a very long-lived webcomic about a bunch of people and the eventual creation of sapient robots. It has a lot of representation.
Mooncakes was nominated for a Hugo this year and is about a deaf witch who lives with her grandmothers, and a werewolf friend who comes to solve a mystery.
From our own shelf is Nimona about a plucky...let's say girl, who wants to be a henchman for the villain! But it's not quite that simple.
I'll stop there!

Classics, whom come to mind as highest in nerdom:xkcd - A comic of substance and intellect by the true genius, Randall Munroe.
Irregular Webcomic - Long running and far from irregular funnies on various geeky themes by David Morgan-Mar.
Not to forget another old stable of witty commentary, speculation and existential philosophy - Dinosaur Comics by Ryan North.
Thanks for the excellent suggestions. I'll definitely have some reading to do now. Nimona doesn't seem to be available as a web comic anymore but I've had the graphic novel on my to-read list for a while.
Allison, I think you recommended Tripping Over You on the romance novel thread too. I've actually started reading that one already and you're right, it is sweet. It's a very quiet, kind story which is like weekly antidote to real life.
