This thread is to discuss Voyager, the third book in the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon.

I had to stop reading Dragonfly in Amber because I have it on audible and I had a few books from the library that my holds came available for this month's reads and I had to finish those before the library takes them back. SO This on will probably bleed into the next month. Will update y'all on my progress

I finally finished Dragonfly in Amber over the weekend and started Voyager!

Man that ending of Dragonfly in Amber was so sad.

I was surprised how Claire reacted to Jaime re-marrying and that she didn't give him a chance to explain before she started riding away. I get that she was lied to and she was shocked but still...She was back with Frank and he still wanted her back, just because Jaime was remarried doesn't mean that he forgot about Claire or stopped loving her. IDK I get her being upset I guess I was just surprised she was SO upset she was going to go back through the stones lol

I commented on the July-December Buddy read thread that I'd like to extend the Drums of Autumn thread to November since I'm behind and move the book that comes after it to December. If you are ok with that can you go on the buddy read thread and make a post? The mods do check these threads but they need the request for moving or extending buddy reads on the main thread so they can keep track easier.

@Ruthie, I have fixed my buddy reads threads for the Outlander series so I should get emails now when they are posted in. October has zoomed by and I have fallen behind in checking my discussion groups but all should be good now. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Voyager!

This one was Crazzzzy I love the magic elements like the whole cave part and tribal bonfire part. I live for that type of stuff

(view spoiler)[ I love that it ended on such a cliff hanger and Gabaldon is setting up the next books to take place in America after exploring so much Scottish history. I also SWOONED when jamie and claire finally reunited, best scene I have ever read. Also, I was incredibly angry that he married Laoghaire. I understand why he did but considering Laoghaire tried to kill claire, I don't know that I could have forgiven him. and FRANK, gah I hate him so much but also i feel for him because he's married to someone who doesn't love him and that has to be hard, but he doesn't have to be such a jerk all the time, you know? I know I totally agree!
It was so sad at the end of Dragonfly in Amber when she went back through the stones and then I was so happy when they found out he lived through the battle and that she went back through. It was so funny that he fainted lol

I know I was angry he married Laoghaire as well! Claire did say in her internal dialogue that Jaime didn't know it was her who tried to kill Claire. If he knew that he wouldn't have married for sure. I don't see why he had to marry again why not just have "girlfriends" lol until he finds someone else that he loves maybe not as much as claire but not just marry someone to marry

Did you see my above spoiler? I was surprise that Claire was about to go back through the stones and she didn't give Jaime a chance to explain. I get that he lied to her and that is bad but idk it seemed a bit out of character for her and it would have been better if her reaction was a bit different

I know I was so angry with Frank that he was going to take Brianna away like she's not your kid man lol and yes he's a jerk

The part around the tribal campfire and then she heard Brianna was crazy! I want to know what was going on on Brianna's side The cave part was also crazy! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ yes I agree, claire not giving him a chance to explain was so out of character, but I also feel like she was so overwhelmed and part of her expected him to stay loyal to her forever but also knew that was an unreasonable expectation. It was all around a not ideal situation but after they worked through that and claire got to take him back and stick it to Laoghaire was sooooo great!!

I also love that Jamie is basically a perfect guy, but one of his most fatal flaws is that he gets deathly seasick. That is so funny to me because it's something so small but really screws him up at the most inopportune times.
