Irene is a Librarian working for The Library. The Library collects books from different worlds because a book may differ from one world to the next. A book may exists in only one world. The Library's purpose is to collect a copy of every book in existence. Irene's parents are Librarians and she was raised in The Library and she is dedicated to serving it. Irene is assigned an apprentice, Kai, a dragon. Their first mission is to collect a copy of Grimm's Fairytales from an alternate London. There they meet Vale, a private detective, who is that world's version of Sherlock Holmes. Vale helps them navigate that London. Irene and Kai are competing with the Fae for the book. Alberich, a Librarian who defected from The Library also wants the book. This is a cute series. Entertaining but by no means a deep, thought provoking read. Fast and fun.
