Add me to the list of those with super old ones on my list.
I have 3 2018 ones left and I'm slowly chipping away at them, but man do I hate seeing those super old ones linger.

I also have one old one from 2018. I never get around to it because I need a gap in my current books to have the time to read it. I'm hoping by the end of this year I'll finally get around to it. I also was in a good place and added a bunch recently. Unfortunately, many of them published in August and September, so I've been struggling to keep up. I'm not in too bad shape though. Hopefully, I'll be looking good again by the end of September or October.
Hoping to do better this month.Books on shelf - 66 (141 Approved / 71 Feedback Sent)

I have one left from 2018 as well. And 4 from 2019.
The problem is if I start there, I will get behind with my current reads. Am going to try to read one per month.
A good problem to have, too many good books!
Plus school starts on Monday for my students (2nd grade, all online) so the last two weeks I have done almost zero reading while getting ready.

@Kelly - I also have Black Sun and the audio for To Sleep in a Sea of Stars! ETA: and at least one of your Edelweiss titles.Maybe a Buddy Read would be additional motivation.
That goes for anybody here, not just Kelly :)

@Alysa - Yes, that sounds great! I'd love to buddy read arcs. I already planned to listen to the audio at the beginning of the month (on the 4th maybe?) Would that work for you? As for Black Sun, when do you want to read it ?I looked at your arcs and I think we have The Kingdom of Liars and The Once and Future Witches in common. Also, The Space Between Worlds is the book of the month in Challenge Corner's group if you want to participate :)

As for Black Sun, w..."I don't have a ton of time for audio until later in the month, alas, because of some significant schedule changes IRL, so I'm hesitant to commit to that. But how about either Black Sun or The Once and Future Witches, with any start date from this Sunday onwards :)
Funny about The Space Between Worlds. I wasn't planning on joining another GR group but I'm tempted. Do their monthly challenges usually get action during the entire month, or does it tend to be heavy towards the beginning and lonely towards the end?
@Alysa - Well about Challenge Corner, I love their challenges so I'm a bit biased but I've never really noticed if the 'action' slowed down. I feel like it's slower toward the middle of the month, maybe? It also depends of the group you're in :)How about we start Black Sun on Monday 7th? I'm never done a BR in this group so I'm not sure how it works here.
I will go over to the BR request thread and ask them to set up a page... Then we can decide how formal/informal we would like to be (e.g., keep it loose, or specify # of chapters per day, etc.)

So I have a bunch of books published last month that I need to read and probably just as many that are going to be published this month. I'll need to read 18 books if I want to get caught up. I only have to read 7 to get to my ratio goal so let's see how many I can knock out this month.Start

First review of the month done! Pub date was today, so I just snuck it in. I just finished Deadly Waters by Dot Hutchison. I loved her collector series, but this was not nearly as good. It was generally a drunken, angry, man-hating story. I gave it a generous 3 stars basically because I think the bones of the story were good and I generally like her writing style. Unfortunately, the story was buried under a lot of drunkenness and too many men blatantly sexually assaulting women without any concerns for recourse.

Really having a hard time with this at the moment. Not only am I not interested in reading fiction at all currently, I'm also fed up with writing reviews (I still have 4 or 5 to write from books read back in June/July...). No idea when I will finally get to those.Beginning of the month

Good job for finishing a book and writing a review. Too bad it didn't live up to expectations.

Maybe this will help: I try to get started on a review right away, as soon as I start a book, even just to get some bare bones written down. Then as the book progresses, I keep adding bits and pieces as they strike me. By the time I'm done with the book, there's just some finishing off to do and voila--the review is ready. Good luck!
Gem wrote: "I go again....I'm so embarrassed by the age of some of these!!"I know what you mean, Gem! But once I put it all out there (here in this safe zone), I felt so much better and more motivated to get to them. Good luck!

You are not helping my TBR list. I just added it even though it is really long.
Third review for the month! Publication date was today, so I just snuck it in again. I didn't love this one as much as everyone else did. I typically enjoy Backman's writing and this was a widget, so I hope I am still on their list for his next release after giving this one an average 3 star review.
