I didn’t read it, sorry I got to late in this group and had already started a book. But this month I am going to read!
The best part- Malik's story, the worst part- Tunde's murder, favourite characters- Malik and The Faceless King. The plot was amazing and the writing was beautiful. A glossary however would have been useful in understanding some unfamiliar terminology.
I agree there were many unfamiliar terms in the book.
What did you think about the romance in this book? I felt a little sad that the two MC didn't properly meet for half the book.
How was the world-building?
Which POV did you prefer Malik or Karina?

This book wasn't that great in the start, it was like any genric YA Fantasy. But it got better in the second half. Especially Karina felt like every YA heroine, with the whole 'reluctant queen' and 'family issues' stuff, but her character got much more depth later on.The World-building was the best aspect in this book for me. I loved all the festivals and the interesting culture and traditions.
I dunno, both the POVs were nice. If I had to choose I'd say Malik.
Yes, the world building was very original....But I dunno, the entire main romance between Karina and Malik wasn't that great. It was like every YA book, nothing special.
I really liked the world building as well, and I did enjoy the characters separately but to me they didn’t seem to mesh well together. The romance seemed almost forced, but I think the next book might dive deeper into that? The stories within the book were beautiful though so I think I might still read the next one
