Pherdia was scrubbing away at the door handle, and the part of the door that she intended to knock on. The herbal handsanitizer came in handy at times like these and eventually the door was deemed worthy to knock on. The sharp raps, then four more after that. The science teacher to say the very least was very angry at the combat teacher, or at least to an extent.
"Come in." Nerium called, standing up. She stretched her arms out in front of her and popped her knuckles out of habit. "Make it quick, I have a class soon." She looked towards the door, not quite sure who was there but not quite caring, either.
Opening the door, Pheridia set on a R.B.F and looked over at Nerium lazily. "Would you like to explain to me why one of my students came in with a broken arm? A human one at that?" She stepped into the room, not closing the door. "This isn't acceptable Nerium, why would you do something like that?"
Nerium raised her eyebrows. “Before I start arguing with you, did you even bother asking how they broke their arm, or does every kid falling out of a tree get blamed on me?”
"They very clearly said they were training with you and something happened between you and them, causing their arm to break." Pher sighed. "Might be lying to me, most of them think I'm a joke for some reason but they don't realize I can stunt their plants."
Nerium thought for a moment. “What was the kid’s name? One of ‘em took a pretty hard fall earlier, after trying some stupid move with a bo staff. It didn’t seem like anything was broken, but I’m a combat teacher, not a doctor.”
"Daft. He's a newb." Pher shrugged. "Daffodil. I'm surprised he was even able to pick up a Bo staff. the kids literally a stick." She held her breath moving towards Nerium. "We need a medic on campus. I think I overheard Jade talking about it but It may have been a dream." Pheridia rocked back on the balls of her heels. One of her Orchid Mantis' hung by her ear, chittering as she got closer to Nerium.

Nerium nodded. “A medic would be useful. I have a feeling Jade is going to make a lot of changes. It’ll be refreshing, I suppose. Now, have you finished being mad at me?”
Pheridia heckled, her small Buffaloberry pot sprouting in her pocket. "Do not dismiss me! I am allowed to talk to you. You need friends other then me." It was a bold blurt and she quickly flushed, the orange tinted druid covering her mouth.

Nerium stood up as the bell rang, signaling the start of a new day. This would be her first class of the year, and she had it planned out. They'd be tested in real life first, just so she could get some idea of their fighting ability, and then she'd start a team rumble in the simulator. What could go wrong? Well, a lot of things, actually, but she was determined to make sure it didn't.

Ariah walked into the classroom, among the first to do so. She looked around, not expecting the room to be so... empty. The human gave Nerium a nervous smile, waiting for everyone else to get in.

Nerium nodded at the two girls. "What are your names?" She asked."I'm Ariah Hamilton, y'know, like the musical about the dead history guy." Ariah said in her usual way of introducing herself.
"Hey, I heard this was the combat classroom?" Raiva swaggers into the place, head held high. "Not that I need combat skills or anything, but there's this kid I need to beat up."

"Yes, this is the combat classroom." Nerium looked at Raiva coldly. "And I think you'll find it very useful." She looked around at the students. "Line up. You'll be fighting me first, so I can get an idea of your starting skills."
"Hey hey hey, teach." Raiva put his hands up in mock surrender. "No need to be icy. Fun teachers are better than that "I see all, know all, and am better than all" stuff you're trying to pull. Just saying."

Nerium raised her eyebrows. "Oh, are you volunteering?" She asked in a sarcastic-sweet voice. "Choose a weapon, unless you have your own." Her voice returned to its natural coldness, and she picked up a bo staff. "The weapons are dulled so they won't actually cut you, but it'll still hurt."
"That depends." Raiva matches her tone with an innocent look in his eyes. "Are you asking? Or telling?"

Nerium smirked. "Not likely." She watched him for a second before darting forward, feinting towards his right before whirling around and sweeping her staff at his ankles. ((So here's the thing - Nerium is a combat teacher who's been teaching for years, and she's also just a really great fighter, so she'll probably win the first battles pretty quickly. Just putting that out there because I've known people who make characters almost invincible without basis.))
((Okay then. Here's what I was planning to say: Raiva turns into a bunch of petals and puts Nerium into a headlock, says a witty catchphrase, then gets flipped over her shoulder onto the mat, where he promptly turns into a bunch of petals. Sounds good?))

Raiva turns into a bunch of petals, dodging what surely would have been defeat and puts the teacher into a sleeper-hold. "Hahaha, guess I have a lot of...flower power? Hahaha!"

Nerium grabbed his wrist and stepped to the side, flipping Raiva over her and onto the mat and pointing her staff at his throat.
"Hey! I wasn't even done with my jokes," Raiva fumes. "Totally not cool, teach! Seriously, what the f-" He bursts into a storm of petals that gently fall to the ground.

"You're definitely a fighter," Nerium said, ignoring him. "But you're cocky, and that could get you killed. You should know that we won't be using powers in this class." She turned to the rest of the class. "Next?"
"Yeah, sure teach." Raiva reforms and rolls his eyes. "But you have to admit, you weren't expecting me to be all that, right? I mean, my body language portrayed me as a talker, not a puncher,"

Nerium gave him a cold look. "You're both, and either way you haven't got much precision. Who's next?"Ariah stepped forward, picking up a sword. "I'll try."
Nerium waited for a moment, letting the girl get ready, before launching towards her. In about five seconds, Ariah was lying on the floor.
"You're going to need a lot of training," was all Nerium said. "Next."
Ariah stood up and went back to Iris. "I don't even know what happened, but I'm pretty sure I lost." She whispered.
"Don't worry, fellow student!" Raiva said encouragingly. "Everyone has to start somewhere, especially when you have as gung-ho a teacher as Nerium."

Nerium's class had ended a while ago, but something was bothering her. She stood up from her desk and picked up a pair of knives, before lunging towards a training dummy with an angry yell. She slashed at its chest before ducking to the side and stabbing it, continuing this until she felt satisfied, and then planted both knives in the dummy's stomach for good measure. She hesitated for a moment before turning and walking out, headed to the cafeteria.

This is where things get different. The combat classroom is almost like a simulator game, where you fight virtual opponents and occasionally other students. Your powers don't work in the simulators, so you have to use your wits and whatever you have on hand as a weapon.
