Middlemist Academy of Flora discussion

Kalliope was sitting on the pillar that held the gate up. the ghost wasn't amused with this years selection and was waiting for people to show up even though she could hear them it wasn't like she could leave her spot. "Welcome to Middlemist. Please step forward and show you have some kind of powers" She droned when the first person stepped up.

Ariah froze for a moment. "Umm... Okay?" She crouched down and placed her hand on the ground, and a dozen snapdragons sprouted up and bloomed. Ari stood up, glancing at the ghost. This was... different than she had imagined. "Is that good?"

"Come on in Kid." Kalliope waved a hand, the gate creeping open. "You don't use those powers until after first day." She speaks sternly, jumping down. "Snapdragons. Huh." Crouching she watched them quietly. "Haven't seen one of those before." Kalliope grinned and looked at Ariah. "Welcome." with this she turned to the next person who stepped up. "Welcome to Middlemist. Please step forward and show you have some kind of powers"

Ray walked towards the gate, listening to what Kalliope said. She shrugged and pulled her hood over her head. She frowned at the ghost but didn't say anything. She put a hand on the ground, and two dozen chinese ground orchids sprouted out, forming a small walkway for her. "Good enough for you?"

Ariah nodded, smiling, and walked through the gate. She fiddled with the straps of her backpack and stared up at the school. It was huge. The human girl took a deep breath and walked up to the entrance.

"Indeed. You may enter." Kalliopes head bobbed and she side-glared Ray as she walked past. Girl should honestly drop her attitude Her own rare black roses sprouted, curling up her ankles. As the next person stepped forward she speaks the same thing as before "Welcome to Middlemist. Please step forward and show you have some kind of powers"

Ray stalked past, her hood still casting a shadow over her face. As she walked past Kalliope, she flicked her wrist slightly and a small Chinese ground orchid sprouted up around Kalliope’s ankle.

Her mouth twitched upward as she walked inside the academy.

Iris strode up to the gates and waved at the ghost. "Hi! I'm Iris." She said with a bright grin (Feel free to shoot her down XD).

Kalli blinked, jumping slightly to Iris' sudden optimism. "Show your powers. If you don't, you cannot pass." Her eyes flashed back, her capabilities appearing quietly. "Anything will do, grow a vine, anything.

She nodded and focused, raising her arm before a small rainbow-eucalyptus sapling started to grow out of nowhere, becoming a young tree (Like about her height).

"Welcome. Head on in." Kalliope moved slightly, eyes catching Iris' "Have fun. I can see a whole lot of potential." She bit her lip returning to her position.

”Thanks! Have a nice day!” Iris called to her as she walked in through the gates, automatically scanning the grounds for good pranking spots.

Maddie and Alex walked up, looking curious at the gate.

"I'm confused, are you Alex?"

Maddie asked her twin

"There's a gate there's a person, what's confusing, Mads?"

Alex asked his twin.

Rocking on the balls of her heels Kalliope looked around, watching her hands before she speaks to the person approaching. "Welcome to Middlemist. Please step forward and show you have some kind of powers" her eyes met their own, practically reading their soul.

They showed off their powers which was the same as the person that was practically staring into their souls.

they looked for unblossomed flowers and made them grow quickly.

"There, now can you stop staring into our souls?"

Alex said because he was quite freaked out

Kalliope chuckled "I suppose. Go ahead through." she waved her hand for Alex. "I'll see you on the other side hot-stuff." The ghost winked and a gentle burst of wind was felt on his end. "Welcome to Middlemist. Please step forward and show you have some kind of powers" she droned to the next person who walked up

Alex went to his gay panic mode as he looks at his twin

"I'm his...uh! okay"

Maddie does the same as Alex did, find a unblussomed flower, and made it grow quickly.

Maddie looked at her and pursed her lips

"Can you stop staring at me?"

"Go ahead through kid. I have 165 other freshies to initiate." Kallie rolled her eyes, leaning back on her heels once more. "Welcome to Middlemist. Please step forward and show you have some kind of powers" she repeated in the general direction of the line.

Maron had smiled at the women, a big, wide, goofy smile as he greeted her. The male paused, then crouched down brushed aside a few leaves and strands of grass to touch raw earth. The male says something, and instantly a shrub the side of a bike shot from the ground, full of vibrant poppies and soft-looking leaves.
Marson stands up, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly as he apologized for the size.
"I'm just so excited." He admits



Sierran rolls her weight onto the balls of her feet, dark eyes flickering to the giant shrub as it sprouted from the ground. There was a pause before the boy began to apologize.
Rubbing her neck, the pure-blood looks to the side, feeling awkward under the gazes of so many half-human and humans.

Marisol ran up, out of breath and panting. "Sorry I'm late," she said. She brushed herself off and smiled sheepishly.

Kalliope pointed to Maron "You can come in. Try to control the powers as you don't technically start until tomorrow." The brunette ghost rolled her shoulders. "And please get rid of that. it's in the middle of the line. Actually-" She hissed, making a jerking upright movement with her palm. Black roses strangled the plant yanking it into the ground.

Finally her attention turned to Sierran. "Do you have something to show?" Before she could answer Kalliope looked at Marisol. "Please show your powers. And you're not late." Kalliope rolled her eyes.

"Oh," Marisol shook her head. She raised her hand up and a sunflower shot up, a little taller than her.

"Go ahead." Kalliope nodded.


Cin walked forward Glory not far behind him. He made quick work summoning a small plant. Meanwhile Glory wrapped her Morningglory vines around the pillars. They both entered.

The boy smiles and nods. "Thanks! Have a nice day!" he says before walking off.

Sierran hums, simply twiddling her thumbs as a redwood sprouted from the ground. It slowly inched it's way up, stopping at her mid-calf before the girl looks up. "Sorry if it's too little, I just don't wanna sprout a giant tree here." she hums before looking foreword.

"Fine. Easier to clean up. You can pass." Kalli flicked a finger her roses submerging it.

Sierran nods her head, "Have a nice day miss." she says quietly passing through, eyes flickering left and right, somewhat anxiosuly.

Sata jogs up to the front of the line, ignoring the other people's protests. "Excuse me, ma'am? What is all this for?" he gestures to the line behind him with a dirt-covered hand.

"Hey!" Raiza yells. "Who do you think you are, cutting in front of me like that?! Think you're some hotshot, huh? Well, I got news for you, buster! YOU AIN'T! If I knew who your mother was, I'd--" Poof! With a gentle tinkling sound, a bunch of petunia petals fluttered to the ground.

Sata turns around to look at the boy. "If I knew who my own mother was, I would probably let you do..... whatever that was." He says, trying to stay calm. "Apologies for cutting in front of you"

The petals collect back into a person who is taking some deep breaths. "Next time, don't cut, okay?" Raiza says, gritting his teeth. "Or something might happen."

"I promise on the honor of anyone who remembers me," Sata says, knowing full well there was no honor at all. "Let me just find out what the fudge is happening here and then I will let you go next." The fact that people would explode into petals for this mysterious line was making Sata wary.

Kalliope looked between the two, the female ghost a tad amused at the fight. "Show your powers, and you may enter." She rocked on her heels, grinning loosely.

Sata raises an eyebrow "Powers?" He asks. "What powers?"

"Move aside, frustrating person! Let the cool guy pass through." Raiva says, pushing past Sata. "What are you, female ghost? The school spirit?" He explodes into a bunch of laughing petals that slowly fall to the floor.

Sata looks down at the petals with a bemused smile and steps over the pile. "Sorry 'Cool Guy', but I'm in front of you"

Raiva collects himself and takes a deep breath in. "School spirit," he chuckles to himself. "I'm way too funny. But still! I am a cool guy! See! I've got a note from my mom that says so!" He pulls out a paper that indeed says that he's cool, with someone's signature on it, and waves it in Sata's face. "I am cool!"

Sata squints at the note. "Wow, the fact that you have a signed document that declares you're cool just makes me believe you're the coolest," he says sarcastically. "So cool, that you may go before me in line. You're welcome"

"Thanks!" Raiva says. "I'm just going to ignore the sarcasm dripping from your voice and instead take your spot!"

"It is yours to take, Cool Guy," Sata says. He steps back to watch. What powers were this boy going to do besides implode in petals?"

"Okay, watch this." Raiva says. "Step back." He takes out a flower with two buds on it. "Kabam!" The flower morphs into a sick-looking purple double headed hammer. It's engraved with purple petunia petals in hard, angry scrawls, all of them deep and ragged. "Only I can activate this petunia. I'm special that way." Raiva preens. "I can also do this!" He implodes into a starburst of petals that fly up to the lowest branch of a tree. "I can only fly small distances, unless the wind takes me somewhere. I have one last super-cool thing." Raiva's arm turns to petals, which drift to the other side of a trunk. "Kabam!" His arm reforms, going through the tree.

Sata closes his mouth before he could be seen gaping at the boy. "Nice hammer."

African Violet walked up to the gate and looked around. They sprouted a small miniature african violet in their hands and walked through the gates at a brisk pace, heading for the entrance hall. Good thing I've already been to orientation, they thought sourly as they jogged towards the building.
