Halloran was hungry, but Tamsen took care of that! She is a complex character, and I really enjoy reading about her. Her daughter, Elitha, is another one that I've really come to enjoy...as well as her relationship with Thomas. I'm really enjoying this book, and I'm hoping that things go off the rails soon because some of these dudes, like Keseberg, need to get what's coming to them.
I hate Keseberg but in the prologue it said he was the only one left alive. Which irritates me. What happened with Halloran reminded me a lot of The Troop. Only this seems to be a demon or spirit instead of worms. I also really enjoy Tamsen and how every single one of these people have secrets. It seems like things are starting to amp up but I want people to start dying. It’s time. 😂
I didn't remember that Keseberg was the lone survivor. How irritating. We're starting to move along at a decent pace now. And yes, agreed, that we're going to learn all these people are truly all connected. I think this Lydia from John Stanton's memory may be at the heart of it all. Is she the girl that was conned by the tonic seller? Perhaps she was trying to get rid of an unwanted pregnancy?
I am at 77% now. I am really kind of mad at this author right now. I am curious to see if anyone else is picking up on the same theme I am with this book. Not going to say, just curious to see if anyone says it first. The idea of what I was lead to believe with the story is not really what I am seeing. It is creepy yes, but the other thing is making me cuss under my breath LOL
