So do you go to the movies? Or do you like watching films at home on DVDs, TV or maybe online?

Which sort of films do you like best? Do you like to re-watch old favorites?

Do you like films of books? Which do you like to do first, if so, watch the film or read the book? Are there any films which you think are actually better than the book on which they are based?

Here's a place where we can just chat generally about films :)

My family and I enjoy watching DVDs! I like a wide range, as long was it's clean! Yes! I love re-watching movies! 😁

I do like films of books but, if I can, I much prefer to read the book first! Hmm, not off the top of my head. 🤔

Emma (emmasbookishdiary) My answers are about the same as Allyson’s! I like watching DVDs and reading the book before I watch the movie, mostly because then I get to picture everything in my head for myself instead of the movie doing it for me.

Yes! My thoughts exactly!! Have you seen Anne of Green Gables?? I was very prejudiced when we started watched it, I was sure that it couldn't be as good as the book! 😜 But when we finished it I had to admit that they did a very good job, I really enjoyed it!

sumayyah (sumayyaha) I watch movies all the time. Ones my dad showed me on DvD on repeat :D I don't know about being better than their source material but I love Matilda, Lord of the Rings, Emily of New Moon (TV show) and (a bunch of anime films lets just not list here xD) ...

These ones don't have books (I believe): Dennis the Menace, Home Alone, Ip Man films

my main taste is either classic or martial arts/anime I guess :)

Ooh! I want to see Emily of New Moon! I've read the books and loved them!! Is the movie a lot like the books or totally different?

sumayyah (sumayyaha) I wasn't aware there was a movie, I just watched the TV show which had a few seasons (can't remember how many) but I hadn't read the books at that point and I haven't read them yet (but I plan to) so I wouldn't know how much they're like the books. It was a very captivating show not sure if it's as clean as you'd like though (maybe check the iMDB parental guide for that) but if it's okay with you I'd recommend it. :)
