I am currently reading it. What did all of you think?

SofiaReads | 2 comments It’s one of my favorite boooks! I hope you like it

SofiaReads | 2 comments * it’s also really good *

SAM IS SO PRECIOUS 🥺🥺
I think this book also had great intros to Ansel, Rolfe, and Yrene. Also the references to the events in here in KOA are legendary

message 6: by Z (new)

Z I'm finding that i'm draggin myself to read through this book. I understand that it shows exaplins the backstory of events that goes on in QoS and then to the end but uhhh I just want to get back to the main plot lol

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ (elinoz) | 724 comments Mod
Haha well it’s definitely worth it bc so many characters come back in EoS and KoA and ToD (and a little QoS). and the references they make to events in TAB (even in TOG and COM there’s TAB references). Plus Sam!!! Trust me it’s a very good book, really worth it and it also has loads of clues for some events in EoS allies wise

Kash Ilyas | 4 comments I read this book before all the rest of the books and it made my reading journey so much more better throughout all the books, I liked knowing already what Aelin/Celaena had gone through and god the way that Sams fate made my heart break was so hard for me, it really hurt my heart. :(

Ayla (storiesandfolklore) | 4 comments I love this book so much.
That is all.

Chiara | 43 comments I'm rereading it for the buddy read that started yesterday, and I forgot how much I love Sam and hate Yrene Towers XD

My objective for this reread is to see if I can change my mind about some characters that everybody loved, but I don't so much

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ (elinoz) | 724 comments Mod
You- you hate Yrene?? Omg why? I’ve never met someone who hates her

Chiara | 43 comments yes, I know. I have a complocated relationship with Chaol. I love him and I hate him, in the back of my mind he has ...

MINOR SPOILERs FOR THOSE WHO HAVE ONLY READ THE NOVELLAS...

in the back of my mind he has always been the one for Celeana, so when he met Yrene I was still hoping they would end up together, even though there was the mate thing.

i know, that's stupid, but hey. I really loved him in the first two books. that's also why I am reading it again ^_^

Presley | 90 comments Only thing I do not like about Assassins Blade is that Sam dies! He was one of my favorite characters!

I also really loved Chaol! When you read the first two books they are so different than the rest of the series. It's almost like you're reading two completely different series. I love Rowan and Aelin together but I always liked Chaol and shipped him with Celaena/Aelin since the first book. I haven't read The Assassin's Blade yet, though I have it sitting on my TBR and considering making it my 100th book for my 100 books challenge this year. I'm halfway done with book 99.

꧁༺ L̴E̴X̴I̴E̴ ༻꧂ | 91 comments Congrats! Assassin’s Blade is definitely worth reading. It fills in a lot of backstory for characters like Lysandra, Ansel, and even Rolfe. Plus, it has Sam :)

Presley | 90 comments Definitely worth the read.

Niham Teradhalys | 210 comments Hi guys! I just finished reading Queen of Shadows, when do you think it's best to read assassin's blade? Should I continue the story of Aelin and the court and then at the end read this one?

Yes, just continue reading the series. You don't have to read the Assassin's Blade to read the rest of the series because it's a series of novellas about Celaena and others she met before the events in Throne of Glass. It's really awesome and I'm actually currently reading it for the first time, but I recommend reading the rest of the series first and then reading the Assassin's Blade because it makes it so much more sweeter!

I actually giving my two cents would say read it right now. Before EOS. Bc EOS has many characters introduced in assassins blade and I think you enjoy little callbacks and phrases if you see their first meetings with Aelin. And there’s one lovely callback in particular in KOA that connects with assassin’s blade that makes me so sad but you probably wouldn’t catch it if you hadn’t read it. Just my opinion though!

Niham Teradhalys | 210 comments thank you so much, I'll read it before EOS then

Niham Teradhalys | 210 comments and since we're already here, what about tower of dawn, if I read it before EOS will I have some spoilers? I'm thinking of reading it while reading EOS since both stories happen at the same time but I've never read two books at the same time lol

꧁༺ L̴E̴X̴I̴E̴ ༻꧂ | 91 comments Reading both at the same time sounds fun! TOD does have some spoilers for EOS though so I’d recommend reading them in the order they were written.

Presley | 90 comments Yeah reading them in order definitely

Niham Teradhalys | 210 comments Thank you so much guys

mina | 2 comments quick question: should I read it first or third in the series? I haven't started yet

Mirthe ~ | 6 comments I recommend it as third but you can also read it first ;)

Chandler McLain | 1 comments Hi, so I just finished this book and I need help with something
I have read through queen of shadows and I know it’s been stated somewhere in one of the books I think but can someone remind me how Aelin found out that it was Arobynn who betrayed her and Sam?
Thanks!

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ (elinoz) | 724 comments Mod
In all honesty I can’t recall if it’s ever directly stated?? I’d assume if there is a book that indicates it, it’s QOS. But I would say that the conversation she has with Lysandra in the beginning ish of QOS is probably where she figured it out :)

message 30: by Maya (new) - rated it 5 stars

Maya I’m pretty sure it’s the letter that Lysandra had from her lover.

Fray MK (kris0mk) | 11 comments Hi, I've fineshed this one a couple days ago but I'm so confused. I started QoS but I didnt read AB before so I interrupted QoS. I think Aelin started figuring it out (that it was Arobynn) before throne of glass even started, cause it was obv a trap, and not many couldve set it up. What really bugs me is that I don't get why he did it. he was mad she wanted to leave with Sam, I get wanting him dead (I hate him for it, but it makes sense) but sending her to Endovier? It doesn't make sense. he could've take adventege of the situation and grow closer with her, again. Of course the story needs her to go to Endovier. also did he regret beating her? or was just more manipulation? I know he is a terrible person but for some reason i wish he were honest

Shana ☪︎ ♡ (shanacubana) | 1 comments I’m half way through the book and literally JUST STARTING TOG. I feel like after the comments I’ve seen I’m going to be heart broken.

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ (elinoz) | 724 comments Mod
I hope you love it!!

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ (elinoz) | 724 comments Mod
@Fray MK

Truly I think arobynn sent her to endovier because he couldn’t stand that she’d touched and been with someone else. He wanted her to suffer and maybe even break her for betraying and defying him. I don’t think he actually saw a point in keeping Aelin around because it was clear to him that he’d never be able to truly control her

Lisa | 22 comments Lia wrote: "Seeing some people say that this should be read before the series and others saying to read it after Heir of Fire. For those who have done both...which makes for a better reading experience?"

After Heir of Fire, without a doubt! That's how I read it originally and that's how I would recommend it. With the reread I'm doing right now I'm reading Assassins Blade at the beginning, because obviously I already know what's going to happen and I thought it'd be fun to read chronologically. But, you should definitely hold back on AB when you're reading the series for the first time. This for the simple reason that you need to meet Celaena in Throne of Glass first. This way you get to know her as she is there, and fall in love with the world of the series. Celaena in AB is a lot to deal with (don't get me wrong I absolutely love her, but she's not really meant to be an extremely likeable character in AB, so it can be tough connecting with her. She's grown a lot by the time Throne of Glass starts. You could also read AB before Heir of Fire, after Crown of Midnight. I think this will give more of a unified whole to the frist three books (TOG, COM, AB), as HOF is a turning point in the series, and then after HOF you can continue straight into the awesomeness that is QOS and the book after. At the end of the day it's the most important that you read AB before QOS because characters and plotpoints in QOS are introduced in AB.

Jasmine Le | 9 comments I just finished this last night and started heir of fire and it feels wrong to move on to her new life after how tragic the loss of sam was....im still hurting

Nikita Palmer | 2 comments I read this first before starting the Throne of Glass, and I absolutely loved that I did! I know other people have preferred reading it before heir of fire (I’m new to this series so until I get there I won’t understand why) but personally, starting with Assassins Blade worked really well for me to be introduced into this world 😍 eased me straight into Throne of Glass! (Currently on Crown of Midnight)

Purple Spacecat (purple_spacecat) | 3 comments I would absolutely recommend reading it before or after Throne of Glass. If you wait to read it after Heir of Fire you won't appreciate it and kinda want it to be over since it isn't adding anything new. I would have been much more emotionally invested in I had read it first or second.

mariana | 1 comments I am starting the series by reading Assassin’s blade, hope this is the right choice!! Pls let me know tho, are all the books in 3rd person??

Clover | 1 comments Assassins blade was one of my favorite in the series. I finished it months ago and still think about Sam every day.

message 41: by Cora (new)

Cora (cora_barraza) | 8 comments So this may sound crazy but I read all of the other books without reading Assassin's Blade. I didn't want to stop the forward momentum of the story and I asked a friend if I needed to read Assassin's Blade to understand the rest of the series and she said no. I was a little confused about all of the new characters introduced at the end of EOS but I mostly figured it out and by then I just wanted to know what would happen with Aelin so I pushed through and did a tandem read of TOD and KOA. I never went back and read Assassin's Blade because I know what happens to Sam and it all sounds too sad. Should I read it? It sounds like it's just the introduction of the character's we'll see later and a really tragic love story. I like happy endings and I know I won't get one here.
