The Hunger Games discussion

August sat at the porch of her house. She was watching the sunrise.

Aspen smiled, watching his two sisters sleep curled up next to each other on a course mattress. Oakley had her thumb in her mouth diligently sucking on it. Juniper held her close as if protecting her, one arm tightly around Oakley, foreheads pressed together. He pulled on his work boots and grabbed some tessera grain to make some breakfast for them before he left.

August ran off the porch

Aspen cooked up the grain stirring in herbs from their garden. A delicious smell rose in the air. Oakley sat up in bed still sucking on her thumb. She looked wide eyed and alert. She nudged Juniper to wake her up.

April came outside and sat on the porch

(Should our characters know each other well?)

Aspen poured the grain into three bowls, then helped the girls get ready for school.

((Yeah!))

August was outside practicing with her bow. She was about to shoot when April shouted, "Auggie!"
August turned around furious, "YOU MADE ME MISS!" She hissed

April laughed

After walking them there, he jogged over to Auggie's place. From the distance he saw that she was yelling at her sister.

"YOU MADE ME MISS!" She shouts angrier then ever

April giggles

((gtg be on in the morning I have school work :())

((Back))

August takes a deep breath, "I'm going in the games I have to practice.."

Aprils shrugs, "Well mother wanted us to gather breakfast so....you coming?

((Wai..... So we already know we've been reaped?!??!?)))

Aspen signals with his hand for April to be quiet about his presence, planning on sneaking up on August.

((Yeah))

April smirks but stays quiet.

August dosen't see him.

Aspen sneaks up right behind her and whispers into her left ear "Hi."

August screams, "Aspen!!!" She wails

Looks around at the trees. "Geez, I only see pine, and why are you so afraid of a tree." He teased.

August punches his arm, "Stop it!" She wails again.

April laughs and literally starts crying, "Your face.." She says holding her stomach.

"Stop what? I'm genuinely confused why you've suddenly gone crazy and are now screaming 'Aspen' and punching my arm." He grinned

August storms off to her backyard to gather eggs from the chicken coop. She gives him a death glare on her way ((They should be best friends))
April gives him a high five, "Nice work." And keeps laughing

((Ok!)) "Thanks, although I probably want to go apologize, so she doesn't decide to completely kill me off with that glare of hers." He joked grinning from ear to ear.

April laughs, "Well you lucky boy can help us with breakfast have your family come over so we can eat."

"Remember he is MY BEST FRIEND NOT YOURS I'LL INVITE HIM NOT YOU SO NO!" August yells from the back.

April laughs

"Hey! My little sisters invite you over all the time and you don't here me complaining." He teases, knowing that the two little faces he shared a house with are irresistable, and impossible to say no to.

"FINE!!" August yelled and came around with basket of eggs.

April giggled, "So I guess that's a okay so get your sisters so we can start breakfast."

((Right! Goodness, if Aspen dies I am going to be very sad, which is a very high probability, considering the odds are not in his favor.))

((THE ODDS ARE NEVER IN ANYONES FAVOR!!))

"Geez, that was like messing with my mother." He whispered to April, he smile faltered only a second.

((Seriously though they be like, "Happy hunger games and may the odds be EVER in your favor." Then bam the nest thing you know you got a trident in your chest. R.I.P RUE!

((Ik, but he currently can't swim and the arena is water....))

Aspen runs off to get Oak and June.

April sits on the porch

Oakley came running up to the porch giving 'Apy' a big hug and nearly knocking her over.

April laughed and hugged her back. August walked out and smiled at Oakley

((I just now noticed this! Sorry!)) June ran swiftly up the porch and asked August "Can I go see your birds today? I saw a purple butterfly but then it flew away yesterday."

((It's okay))

"Okay june remember freddy dosen't like to be touched." She said ruffling her hair

"Ok! Did you know that I was named after a tree?" June asks with normal 6yr fervor.

"Really?" August says making herself look suprised but she heard this about only a million times

"Yes! And my sister likes the color blue but I like pink! One time I even saw this squirrel run from this dog!" She said excitedly chattering.

August smiles but gives Aspen a look that screams, "SAVE ME!"


April laughs and goes inside

Oakley follows 'Apy' inside sucking on her thumb and holding April's fingers with her hand. Aspen grins at August's predictament then scoops June up in his arms tickling her. "Come on Juney, time to eat." June smiled and immediately broke into another round of chatter, "Did you know that this is my brother? One time-" Aspen interrupts her thought by more tickling. He gives August a sad look then turns to walk inside.

August gives a small smile to Aspen and walks inside.

Her mother has set up the table and breakfast. She sits at a chair

Oakley cuddles 'Apy' close petting her hair. "Meow" she says smiling at 'Apy'.

April sits across from August.

June squirms out of Aspen's arms and runs up to August, "Can I sit by you?" she asks

"Of course.." August said picking up a hard boiled egg

"So you are going into the Hunger Games?" June asks August cheerfully.

"Yes I am.." She says and stops smiling.

Everyone gets quiet

Aspen is very close to banging his head on the table. In a few days he's going in too. Even if district 7 has a winner. One of them isn't coming back. Leave it to your little sister to find the most awkward subject.

August gets up, "Excuse me..." She says and runs outside.

"August!!Augustina!" Her mother yells
