E M M A Lorraine? The boys snickered. What kind of name was Lorraine? It was so long, and so fancy. They'd never heard a Lorraine before... Her hair was orange, a fiery burst of color in the bleak cold morning. "Im OBi," Obrien introduced himself loudly, grinning toothily. Why was Lorraine here? Was she a baby sitter or something? Maybe it was one of Mommy's friends. Kodi waved shyly, avoiding her blue eyes with his own looking out past her legs at the snow. "And this is my big brother, Kodi," Obrien added, seeing that his brother wasn't introducing himself. OBi spoke with a slight lisp as there were slight gaps in his teeth. He was an energetic type, one that looked unfazed by the idea of talking to a stranger. He'd do well here. "Avee? He's my brother too," O'Brien giggled, glancing back behind him to the empty front parlor as if Avery might have come downstairs. Nope. Still sleeping.

"Come in? You can see Avery, he's upstairs, he's sleeping like a big baby!" OBrien snickered as if it were the funniest joke he'd ever told, with Kodi cracking a wide stupid grin that matched. The two little barefoot boys opened the door wider for Laurie to enter, using both hands to shut it again. They didn't remember to lock the door, instead excited about who this Laurie was. "Are you Avee's girlfriend?" Kodi blurted, fidgeting with his shirt beside Obi. "Eww, girlfriend! Kissy kissy! Avee has a girlfriend!" O'Brien sang, squealing as he broke into a run. He had to go wake his brother up, his girlfriend was here. Laughing and shrieking, Kodi and OBi led the way upstairs, traipsing through the neat-black-leather couches - and- glass- tables fancy downstairs to the second floor. The boys floor. Their footsteps thunder up the carpeted steps then down the well lit hall thanks to the abundant high windows. Avery's door, at the very end, was slammed open, a dark bedroom with clutter and unpacked boxes and various Christmas gifts half wrapped littered around the room in an organized mess. "Avery! AVERY!" OBi screamed, jumping on to the bed gleefully. A lump under dark navy blue covers stirred, just as two little bodies slammed into him. "Wake up, wake up, your stinky kissy fart girl friend is here!" Kodi crooned, sitting on Avery's shoulder while Obrien occupied Avery's chest.

If Avery wasn't awake with all the door slamming and running and shouting, he was now. His little brothers irritated him more often than not lately, especially when his sleep was sacrificed. "O! Kodi! Get out!" Avery whined, shielding his face from his little brothers prying hands trying to rip the covers away from him. It only gave the boys satisfaction, the two slipping off the huge mattress and peeling back the down comforter with glee on their evil little faces. Before Avery could fight back. Obrien and Kodi had stripped his bed bare with the comforter discarded on the floor. His bare shoulders and chest now had a taste of the frigid morning air, all the heat leaving him almost immediately. Just when Avery thought he'd yell at those little kids to give him back his blankets, He noticed... that someone in the room had red hair.

It was... Lorraine! Avery was now sitting straight up, his arms crossed in front of his chest a little self consiously. "Laurie-?" He blurted, his eyes wide in his skull. Glancing briefly at the clock, he noticed that it was nearly three quarters of an hour past the time where he'd promised he'd meet her for their shopping. And... He'd slept though it. His younger siblings were too busy now rough housing, fighting over rifling through a large bag of gifts Avery had for his cousins from California. "Hey! Get out of there! You two!"Avery groaned, rolling off the mattress, scooping up a brother under each arm, the two boys biting and kicking and giggling shrilly saying something about Avery's girlfriend. Ave discarded his brothers in the hall, slamming and locking his bedroom door just as quickly, left alone awkwardly with Laurie. His back against the frigid door, Ave glanced apologetically at Laure. "Sorry about... them, they're crazy... and I probably slept through my alarm, I'm so sorry, I didn't get alot of sleep and I just it was warm and I wanted to sleep in a little- I didn't realize how late it was..." Avery began stammering, his cheeks flushed. He had a bad habit of being off task and never ready for things...

Lorraine sighed softly. She hung her head and came inside relieved from the cold she was soon surrounded by warmth. She smiled at that two but instantly her cheeks were red and her eyes wide. She held up her hand as they spoke about her being his girlfriend. Something fluttered in her chest but she shook it away as well as she shook her head. "N-no it's n-not..." But the boys completely ignored her and mentioned sleeping and she tilted her head. He was still asleep? She bit her lip.

Then she hear scrambling and she looked up seeing the two running up the stairs. "Oh n-no! You don't have to w-wake him!!" She whispere but they did not hear her. She blushed and hesitated before walking up the stairs blushing. This was a bad idea! What if he... Was busy or something!?! She heard yelling and slamming of the the door and then it opening again. Once she reached the top of the stairs she couldn't help but laugh as she spotted the boys jumping on a lump in the blankets. She couldn't help but giggle. She moved to the side and watched with a smile. Then he was up and her eyes widened seeing his.... Lovely chest. Her mouth became dry and she blushed even deeper.

Then he was leading the boys out and her eyes followed him. She was stiff eyes on his chest as he closed the door and leaned against. She just stared. Speechless. Not even hearing him speak.

E M M A Avery didn't take any notice or really mind that he was shirtless, although it did feel a little weird with a girl seeing him in his pajamas. Living on the beach was just constant oppurtunity for shorts all day, hanging out on the beach or just lounging at home. Avery was extremely groggy and rubbed his bleary eyes, embarassed more about how messy his room was. "S-sorry, I haven't had a chance to uh... clean up, lots going on...," Avery laughed weakly, rubbing the back of his head as he looked around the room. Gosh. He hadn't noticed how bad the floors clutter wss until Laurie came around. "I'll just... get ready... laure?" He asked, a bit puzzled with why Lauries face was so red. Maybe she was feeling just as awkward as he was. Upstairs, his brothers were rattling on him about his new friend, interrupting a very serious talk about some of the bills. "You can uh... just hang out I guess, don't mind my brothers, " Ave added, unlocking the door again once he was sure those little brats weren't going to just bust in.

Lorraine giggled as she ducked her head her shoulders shaking as she did. "They love you.." She murmured and then perked up before shuffling over and plopping down on the bed smiling to herself. "Don't worry. You should see my brothers room or my fathers. It stinks too so you are fine and you just moved here sooo..." She shrugged. She had her bangs hanging down on the right side of her face today. Trying to hide the shadowed bruise on her face. She bit her lip. Then gasped and stood suddenly. She spun around this caused her hair to fling around dramatically. "Hey! I'm... I... Uh.. You have to get dressed and i.... Uh...." Her cheeks were beet red. She had never seen a mans chest... Gosh! He was half naked! She bit her lip. "Wait outside the room!" She blurted and sprinted out of the room having a bit of trouble with the nob because of her nervousness and embarrassment.

E M M A Avery shrugged, sighing at her comment. He loved those little guys, he couldnt imagine them ever hating him. He treated both equally, always played with them when they wanted him to, took them on adventures exploring coves and beaches back home. After all, family was the most important thing. When you got old and sick, money didn't matter, friends weren't there for you... but family was. Always. They'd be the ones at his deathbed, they'd be the one who he could count on for babysitting his kids when he was older. Maybe not OBi, but you got the idea. "I know... I'm sure they'll like you too," he murmured, automatically implying that Laurie would be around more often than this. Sure, they were friends right? "Well I've been here for a few weeks, I've just been lazy... but thanks anyway," Ave grinned, nudging a stack of clothes aside with his foot. He moved to the window to peek outside at the weather to pick out his clothes, when suddenly Laurie bolted off his bed. "Laure?" He questioned, a bit alarmed at her odd behavior. What was with her today? Then she explained, hardly leaving any time for him to tell her that it was okay, that he could change in the bathroom connected to his room anyway, but she was already at the door. In her haste, she'd stumbled along iver his messes, then fumbled with the slippery doorknob. The lock hadn't been unlocked all the way, so she struggled even worse with that, her face beet red. Avery, laughing with with a good sport, jogged and leapt over the obstacles on the floor, settling his hand over Lauries fumbling one. His hand was larger than hers, warmer, more rough from all the outdoorsy stuff he did. "I got it, here," he said gently, looking over her shoulder only inches away, carefully unlocking the door all the way and twisting the handle. "I won't take long, promise... if you're hungry, help yourself in the kitchen," Avery offered kindly, a small smile on his lips.

Lorraine. Grumbled to herself silently cursing her hands. But then she felt his presence. His warmth. His smell.... She bit her lip and felt his hand lay on top of hers and her heart began to race inside her chest. Little butterflies in her stomach. She didn't turn her head but stayed still... He was so close.. Her thoughts roamed like they usually did. She wondered why it would feel like to have him embrace her with his arms wrapped around her waist. His lips.. She wondered how those felt too... She blushed deeper and watched as he unlocked the door. She bit her lip and nodded. She laced her fingers through his quickly giving his hand a squeeze. She blushed and nodded. "Okay..." She whispered breathless and let go sliding out the door

She couldn't believe that... She bit her lip nervously and walked down the hall. Her feet traveling but her mind had no idea what she was doing. She was so caught up in Ave... Oh gosh! Completely embarrassing. Why did he make her feel like this!? It was his fault! Little turd.... She sighed and continued to walk. Caught up in her thoughts she didn't realize she had gone up the third flight. She turned and walked and walked. Thinking. But then she turned a sharp corner and slammed into the chest of an older man. Lorraine gasped and looked up. Ave's dad!? "I-i-i I'm s-so sorry!!!" She stumbled And looked down nervously. Oh gosh. This was Ave's fault. The sleepy head!

E M M A Avery watched Laurie walk down the hallway in sort of an awkward trance, a bemused laugh escaping his lips. Lorraine was just... adorable. He was completely oblivious to the fact that maybe, just maybe, she had a crush on him, instead thinking about what to wear. It was still sort of cold out, but maybe only a solid jacket and some long sleeves would do it... and Lauries scarf. Yes. He had to give that back, his mother had asked all sorts of questions about it. Avery closed the door with a soft click behind him, rummaging through his poorly organized drawers for a tribal print wine red crew neck sweater, a long sleeve Malibu soccer shirt underneath, and some jeans. He managed to change quickly, before slapping on a hat over his messy hair backwards and brushing his teeth. He washed his face, spritzed on some cologne, and tugged on his shoes quickly, a pair of burgundy roshes. Hopefully, he'd look acceptable... for good measure, Avery draped Lauries infinity scarf that smelled like his cologne thanks to the day he wore it and now, around his neck loosely draped. Perfect. He stuck his phone, wallet, and keys in his pockets, before heading out his bedroom door.

Maxwell Weston rubbed his eyes, having left his office study in frustration. Things just weren't working out, no matter how much he tried. He just didn't want to deal with money all day anymore, have to worry about the move... Mr. Weston left his wife behind to mull over the computer, and sort some papers out to put on file. The boys needed to be checked up on, anyway. Wasn't Avery meeting up with some friend today? It was good to hear that his son had made a buddy, knowing the move had been the hardest on their sixteen year old son. Maxwell turned the corner, rubbing his migraine, when a body rammed into him. "Avery!" Max grumbled, startled. His expression shifted to a more alarmed look when he realized it was a girl, a shy one with fiery red hair. Now who on earth was this? The girl stumbled and tripped over her words, babbling on about being sorry. Did he know her? "And who are you?" Max demanded, arms crossed.

Lorraine heard the anger and saw it. She curled up her defenses going up as well. She bit her lip and looked around. Silently praying for Avery to come behind her. She couldn't help but feel scared. The tone in the mans voice..... Then she relaxed. This wasn't her father. She opened her eyes cheeks red. "I'm s-sorry s-sir!" She whispered again. "I... I... W-well... Avery.... H-he said h-he would m-meet me here at .... 9. B-but he slept past h-his clock!" She began to explain rambling now. Her cheeks a bright red matching her hair. "Obi, and Kodi took me to his R-room.. Well they ran up there and.... And... Woke him up... And and.... I followed no-not wanting them to wake him..... But then he... He was up an...." She looked down fiddling with her fingers. "He had.... A naked chest and stuff...." She whispered biting her lip. "Th-then I-i realized h-he should get dressed and I... I ran from his room!" She nodded. Then looked from side to the side. "H-he's my friend you see..." She explained. "I p-promised to help h-him with shopping..." He added

E M M A ((Omigosh lol a naked chest xD hahaha))

Maxwell Weston stared at the redhead in utter confusion, a bit alarmed at how jittery the child was. What was her problem, anyway? Why was she so nervous? Laurie explained herself, tripping and tumbling over her words miserably, her eyes cast down to the floor. Mr Weston raised an eyebrow at the word naked, a bit suspicious of his sons behavior. There had better not be any thing going on between Avery and this shopping friend. He grunted when she finished, looking her over with a sigh. "Avery Blake!" He roared all of a sudden, his voice echoing down the halls and hopefully downstairs. Sure enough, Avery heard it, having been on his way to the stair case to get downstairs where he presumed Laure was waiting. Alarmed, Ave ran upstairs, holding his hat down on his head with the scarf flowing around him. He appeared on the third floor landing, horrified to see a bright faced Laurie with his father. "Uh... hey dad," Avery said carefully, joining Lauries side breathing softly. "Well.. this is Lorraine, she's my friend, it's okay... we're just gonna go to the mall, get Christmas shopping done," Avery laughed, now grinning irresistibly seeing how his father was reacting to a girl he didn't know in the house. It was priceless, because his father couldn't just say no. It was his first and only friend, Max wouldn't dare shoo her away. "Well, go then, you'll run into traffic... lovely meeting you, Lorraine,"his father sighed heavily, taking off his glasses. He didn't like the idea of Avery getting into girls, but what could he do?

Lorraine eyes widened and she looked up at Ave's dad as he yelled his name. She bit her lip and trembled. She silently prayed for Avery to come... Faster then he was. It felt like a long time though it wasn't before he was by her side. They were speaking but she kept her head down. She was nervous. Frightened in a way. She peeked up at the both of them as then noticed he was speaking to her and she nodded. "S-sorry sir..... I.... Goodbye..." She whispered and nodded before turning and walking done the stairs her cheeks bright red. "I don't think you dad l-likes me...." She whispered to Avery.

((Haha!! I know!!))

E M M A Avery tugged Laurie away with a brief "Bye!" to his father, jogging down all three flights like he always did and jumping the last two steps onto the landing floor. "My dad? Oh, don't worry bout him... he doesn't like me having girls around," Avery shrugged nonchalantly, his footsteps echoing on the wood floors. He led Laurie to the kitchen, yanking open the fridge for some breakfast, a brief one of a swig of orange juice waterfalled straight from the carton and a pop tart he found in the pantry. Deelish. "We ready to go?" Ave offered, munching on some of his breakfast as he walked simultaneously towards the door. His eyes widened jsut as he reached for the door, unlooping the scarf from his neck and tossing it over Lauries head. "I forgot to give this back.." he apologized sheepishly, wondering if maybe he should have washed it first. It mainly smelled like Lauries perfume faintly on one side, and Avery's cologne on the other.

Lorraine followed behind him smiling. He was like a child sometimes. It was cute. But she wouldn't tell him that. She watched him and giggled lightly. He must have been tired. She ignored the ache of her muscles and legs as she moved. The day before not exactly.... Nice. She bit her lip as she watched him. Her cheeks a light red instead of bright from earlier. She tilted her heading think. Did she like him like.... A... Girlfriend?! No she couldn't... He probably would go somewhere else after graduation and he... Probably just saw her as a shy girl that needed a friend. She sighed lightly and then looked up noticing him moving towards her. Her eyes met his and her heart skipped. His eyes were so soft... So beautiful. Then his hand looped out and she gasped eyes wide. Then she smelt him. His smell... Her scarf. She began to giggle and she wrapped her hands in her scarf that she had given him a couple nights ago. She peeked up at him. "You could have kept it if you wanted..." She then laughed. Little dimples on the side of her mouth embedded into her cheeks. Little crinkles at the tips of her eyes. She opened them and stopped. "You look very d-delightful with my scarf!" She smiled but made no move to take it off.

After a moment of silence she stepped back and pointed out the window. "It was cold out there.... I almost left... You sleepy head." She shook her head giggling slightly. "I'm excited for our trip though. Hopefully the mall will be more... Welcoming?" She suggested and then nodded happy of her chosen word. She bit her lip and looked at him again becoming nervous. "I..." She shook her head and just smiled. She was thinking of Christmas. She hoped.... Her dad wouldn't find out. Or her brother..... Who had been following her for a bit... Which annoyed her. He was such a spy. A blabber. "Sleep good?" She asked glancing away from the window and back at him, hearing the two little boys running around, which made her smiled even more. Ave's words echoed through her mind about them liking her... Or coming to like her. It felt nice and... Welcoming.
