They seem to be two different people.http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/ea.cgi?1...

What information I could gather indicates DePrima is from New York, went to Harvard for college, and settled in San Jose, CA. His last book was When the Spirit Calls from 2016. Since he published a book or two every year 2009-2016, except 2012, it does seem odd for him not to have published anything in four years. He may simply be too busy in his personal or professional life to overcome technical difficulties that can frustrate: http://www.deprima.com/news.html. Also, sometimes writers get a form of writers block wherein what they write doesn't meet their standards, their redoubled effort still doesn't, and they can get discouraged. Fan mail that's personal and specific, not just "Gee, I really think your works are great," can help authors in this state get out of it.
I'm really missing reading Thomas DePrima's books, and do sincerely hope his is okay. I miss reading about all the exploits happing in the galaxy unknown.I tried to do a search myself to find out if he's still alive considering the pandemic of COVID. There's a few too many Thomas DePrima's out there, and not enough information on one of my favourite author's to crosscheck. I know of one who passed away age 74 in Chicago Illinois, December 13th, 2020. Another who is a MD in New York, which would have been too busy in 2020 also.
Mental health is a worry, and it's always weighing me down. So I have to ask, RUOK?
Wow! He has 20 books listed as available for purchase here: https://books.apple.com/us/author/id4.... Have you read all of these?! The 20 books were published in the eight years spanning 2012-2019. Maybe he's just taking a break!
I found a post on the scifi Reddit r/scifi from about 6 months ago:"But I can say he is alive. There are no dates scheduled for future releases at this current point in time."
The two people discussing seem to have found an editor who could provide information. Unfortunately it was not considered possible to post the reasons on Reddit. I have tried to reach out to both these people to see if I can get some more information.
Bob wrote: "I went to his website today and its basically turned off."I received a reply from him back in 2022 and he said he had a bout with cancer and was finishing up chemo. He said he was still working on books at that point but having trouble with his computer and website. I haven't heard anything else from him since then though. I hope he didn't lose his battle with cancer! :-(

Regards
EDIT: OK. Now I am confused. I did a reverse image search and find the author Ryk Brown has the same image. Is Thomas DePrima just a pseudonym used for another series? It doesn't say anywhere I can find. Maybe he has been concentrating on books written by his Ryk Brown persona?
