Ugh Three Dark Crowns is so aesthetic and perfect I will never understand why people hate it

yes!! excited to read your review :)
yes!! excited to read your review :)
I highly recommend The Book of Pearl! It's more folktale-ish than mythology, but it's definitely still fantasy.

I know!! One of the rare fantasy books that had me from the start

I recommend: The Legend of Greg by Chris Rylander. It is really unpopular and i do not know how easy it is to find this book, but i honestly loved it and the characters!
I liked Caraval, just not the random plot twists at the end that were totally unneeded and may or may not have broken my brain

The end of the first book. It was so confusing. I still don't know who Legend is or why Tella had to die to be free. But whatever. Maybe my brain is just small.
I recommend The Medoran Chronicles series! It's good if you're looking for something clean, and it's a lot like Harry Potter—the boarding school, the friendship group etc. And anything like Harry Potter is good!
Lovely War incorporates mythology, historical fiction, and romance, so if you like those other genres, i'd definitely check it out!
but for strictly fantasy, the A Darker Shade of Magic trilogy is fantastic (ha)! the first book was really good, the second one i gave 4 stars, but the last one was kinda bad. so it could be read as a standalone unless you're really invested!
I heartily recommend By These Ten Bones by Claire B Dunkle. it's a werewolf story taking place in old Scotland. Spooky, but also ends up being very satisfying!
Middle Grade:Beyonders Trilogy
The Unwanteds series
Young Adult:
Folk of the Air series
Seven Realms series
Shadow of the Fox
House of Dragons*
Mature YA/Adult:
Strange the Dreamer duology
Mistborn: The Final Empire
Honestly I will throw every book of Brandon Sanderson into the list.. The highly recommended ones in my opinion are Warbreaker, The Way of Kings and The Final Empire.
if you're a fan of ya, i'd recommend ruinsong! it's a phantom of the opera retelling, but with magic! the magic system is really interesting, and the antagonist is actually quite scary... there are some parts that will haunt me forever. it also has a wlw romance btw :)
I cannot recommend the Winner’s trilogy enough. The writing is so lyrical, the heroine is smart and the slow burn romance is one of the best I’ve read. If you love political intrigues and romance, this series is one to watch.

@Annie So glad you loved it too! I have yet to read the Midnight lie, but as soon as a copy is available, I will get to it.
@AtTheReader
I hope you will love it too😊. I am scandalized about how underrated this series is.

:) Thank you! I only heard of this series because of Goodreads friends.
Gods of Jade and Shadow (adult/may appeal to YA) I finished it last month and it is based on Mayan mythology!
Is the book “Cinderella is dead” worth reading? I love the cover of the book and I think the illustration on the cover is so pretty. I was just wondering if it’s actually a good read?
Jessie wrote: "Is the book “Cinderella is dead” worth reading? I love the cover of the book and I think the illustration on the cover is so pretty. I know that it takes place long after Cinderella's time, and has to do with feminism. I plan on reading it some time in the future because of those aspects, so hopefully you enjoy it.
