The Ring is an arena similar to the one shown above, just much smaller. Shaped like an oval, it has a sand floor with seating rising around the edges. The arena is used for tournaments, fighting pracitce, Ethereal powers shows, and sports. During events, popcorn and cotton candy are available for the audience.

Luna walked here, in her gloves and her toboggan. She shivered but sat down, somewhere, she coughed quietly and messed with a loose string on her gloves. Is anybody else here? she asked in her head.

Luna raised up and walked to the exit. She left, walking.

Kai sprinted into the ring, not really sure where they were going. No, no, no... Their mess-up had killed someone. They stopped in the center, looking around. What had they done?

They curled up on the ground, burying their face in their knees, tears rolling down their face. A ring of fire burst up around them, roaring high. It didn't spread, since it had nothing to fuel it, but the storm of Kai's emotions sent it whirling around them like a fiery tornado. They barely even noticed it.

Mazo walked into the arena and immediately raised her gun, unable to see through the fire she randomly shot a few rounds, all missing, one having gotten incredibly close. She decided not to waste more ammunition and just wait Kai out.

Kai glanced up as a bullet flew just to the left of their ear. They could make out Mazo's figure through the fire, and their eyes widened. The fire around them started whirling faster, glowing brighter.

"Your gonna die here." She taunted, her powers were rapidly increasing Kai's fear, if he didn't find a way to calm down Kai very well may die of a heart attack. Currently Mazo had no way to get to them and the fire was making it so she couldn't shoot them.

Kai's heart was pounding like it was trying to escape their ribs. Even without Mazo's influence, they were scared for their life. Deep breaths, deep breaths, come on... Their heart slowed a bit, but their wall of fire did the same. Shit. That was their only protection. It was still swirling around, but she could see Mazo's outline clearly now.

Mazo saw Kai's outline now and she raised her gun again. Firing 3 shots, all nearly hitting Kai, the next one would. Then there was an audible click as the gun ran out of ammo. Mazo quickly reloaded it, down to 2 mags now, if she ran out Kai may be able to run away or if he was stupid, rush her and proceed to be stabbed by her knife.

Raelynn ran into the Ring. She spotted Kai sitting huddled in a fading circle of fire. Mazo was reloading her gun. Rae eased around the edge of the ring, angling to put herself between Kai and Mazo. She raised her hands, showing Mazo that she was unarmed, but at the same time, she focused on the smoke being emitted from Kai's fire. She held it in place, letting it gather above them. Rae was ready to drop it at any time, should it be needed, which would provide a smoky cover.

Mazo turned around and without hesitation, shot Raelynn. The bullet grazed her thigh, causing her to lose concentration and release the smoke. "Don't defend him, he fucking killed my little brother, the only one I had left." She said calmly.

Kai suddenly felt rage surge through their body. They hadn't meant to kill anyone. They had been trying, and they couldn't control it. Was that their fault? Yes. But now Mazo was trying to murder them and shooting other people to get to them. The wall of fire surged away from them, fading down to a small flicker at Mazo's feet. "It's they them, asshole," They called to her, voice challenging. It was, quite honestly, a very stupid and very Kai thing to do.

"Oh sorry, didn't mean to misgender you." She said, being serious about the apology. She then turned back around, they took the bait. She slowly began to walk to Kai, wanting to make it a clean kill.

Kai nodded and prepared themself for a fight, getting into a balanced stance. They knew some basic martial arts from one of their dads, but it probably wouldn't be enough to stop Mazo. Whatever. If they were going down, they were going down fighting.

Rae gasped and her hand flashed towards her thigh, covering the wound as it started to bleed. Anger flared in her eyes and she called back the smoke, guiding it back towards the ground with her free hand. She put up a thick wall of smoke around Mazo, trying to stop the fight before anyone else got hurt.

She stopped about 4 meters from them before tossing her gun to them. "I have decided to give you a chance at survival, if you manage to hit me with that and it's not a graze, I'll let you live, if you fail, well you know that." She stated, pulling out her knife, she only has one hand, maybe they could just knock the knife away, leaving her defenseless. (Of course she still has her op power.)
