♔ The Selection ♔ discussion

Rose walks out. She holds the bird so that it doesn’t fall. She looks around happy to be outside again. Her hair blowing lightly in the breeze

Rose nods. “It’s so good to be outside” she says happily. She sets down the bird which hops around but doesn’t go to far. She looks around

Rose blushes. “Oops” she says standing up but accidentally getting closer to him which makes her blush more. She backs up looking away to hide her blush.

Rose sees his crown was out of place. She laughs quietly. Reaching up she fixes it for him.

Rose blushes and quickly takes her hands away once his crown was fixed. She smiles and looks down at the baby bird who was now under their feet. She crouches down “What should we name you” she says petting the bird.

“What should we name him?” She asks Dylan. Looking at Dylan.

“Maybe Apollo? He is the Greek god of the sun and this guy is a bird” She suggested. Watching Dylan calculate everything.

Rose smiles and stands up picking Apollo up also. “So what now?” She asks Dylan. She looks around her eyes getting far away

Rose laughs quietly at how formal he got. “Sure” she says amused. A pice of her hair falls in her face

Rose sits down. Waiting for Dylan. She smiles at him

“What do you want to know?” She asks. “Prince Dylan” she says in a teasingly formal voice.

“Well my name is Rose Fern.” She says. “I was a veterinarian helper in Carolina” she says. “My father’s name is Bruce and my mother’s name is Scarlet” she says with distaste. “My mentor’s name is Lilac and I have always loved helping her, she is like a mother to me and I miss her a lot since I got here” she says her voice turning loving

Rose shrugged “They would always just think of me as a tool. Either to get a higher caste by marriage or to make money for them, that’s the whole reason why they even let me be a veterinarian helper” she says

“I love it” She says with a happy smile. “For one thing my mentor Lilac is amazing” she says. “Also I have never been that good talking to other people, I usually just confuse or offend them and I never have to worry about that with animals” she says

Rose shrugs. “Learning new things” she says. “Helping animals” she says. “What about you? Also please don’t call me Lady Rose it sounds weird to me please just call me Rose” she says

Rose smiles. “I would love to watch you do any of those things some time” she says. “I never really payed attention to the royal family to be honest” she says. “Can you tell me about your family?” She asks

Rose smiles. “Tell me about them” she says. She can sees it’s a topic he likes

Rose smiles. “That sounds amazing” she says. She stands up and walks over to the edge of the balcony to hide her face crying not to cry at how sweet he had gotten.

She looks up at him. “No reason” she says smiling. “That was just so sweet” she explains.

Rose hugs him. “I feel like you need a hug right now” she murmurs. She pulls away

Rose smiles. “What do you want to do now?” She asks. She picks up Apollo.

“Sure” Rose says. “I should probably put Apollo back in my room before we go though” she says.

Rose walks out. She smiles looking over the edge of the balcony. She sighs

Cassidy walks out here and sits down

Rose sees the selected girl and smiles at them. “Hi there” she says

Cassidy smiles, "hi" She says

Rose sits next to her “What’s your name? I am Rose” she says with a smile

"I'm Cassidy." She says.

Rose sees Dylan. “I should go” she says. “It seems like it’s your turn to talk to the prince” she says with a smiles. She stands up and quickly leaves passing Dylan on the way back inside

Cassidy smiles, "It was lovely meeting you." She says kindly

“It was great meeting you also Cassidy.” Rose says stopping next to Dylan and giving her a smile. “She seems nice maybe you will like her” she says quietly to Dylan so that Cassidy won’t hear and forces a smile. “Oh no” she says quietly understanding dawning in her eyes before she rushes back inside

A maid walks out and gives Prince Dylan a note. “It’s not urgent enjoy your time with Cassidy but I think I figured something out on what I was helping you with” it read. “Lady Rose told me to give you this” the maid says quietly and quickly leaves

Cassidy looks confused

"I'm great..and you?" She asked

She smiles, "Well I'm seventeen...I have four siblings.." Her voice trails off

She shakes her head
