I liked it so much! The way Joe Schreiber writes really speaks to me. His prose is excellent. I was rereading many passages because they are so well written.
I like the Darth Drear history, too. It was interesting and it made me think of the pursuits of Darth Plagueis relative to the art and science of the Force and death of the body. I am not a fan of the midichlorians idea (I actually detest the concept), but Schreiber made sense of the notion and it worked in his story. I think the Drear/Scaborous/Plagueis thread would have been interesting if explored more in other works.
I found myself rooting for the bad guys in this book, as I was not a big fan of Hestizo Trace, the book's heroine. But, it ended very well with some dramatic action I enjoyed.
I think it is a great book, though I understand it is not everyone's idea of a Star Wars novel. It feels like Star Wars to me and is a top five Star Wars book for me personally, though my experience is limited.
