Lucy has a confrontation with Laughlin. Did she make a difference?

When he gets over not succeeding in getting her tossed and takes some time to reflect on what she said, I think it will make a difference for him. Lucy thought so, or she would have reported him instead of keeping quiet.

I think you’re right, Anita. Her assessment will roll around in his head forever, not letting him have any peace from here on out. She nailed him and even though he was in denial, it’s in his consciousness now.

I think she did. This was my favorite part of the book. It made for good closure.
I also think that once Laughlin thinks about what she said he'll, hopefully, get over it.
