Me too!
Well, I got a copy last night. What's another book added to my plate? The company is well worth it!😉🥰💕

This has been one of those books that has been on my TBR for a looooooooooong time. hahaha
I'm looking forward to it. 💕

I started a little early as I'm notorious for neglecting e-books. But that also inspired me to attempt the audio for it as well. It's hard to consider it creepy when the voices sound so ridiculous, but when I read it or even just read along it's much more foreboding.

I really struggle with audio books if the narrator(s) is not good or I can't follow the story.

And then those other things distract me from what I'm hearing lol. But it does motivate me to pick it up more often so that's a bonus!

I will get distracted and then I have no idea what I just heard in the plot. LOL!!
I usually just stick with nonfiction, memoirs and true crime. If I am not paying attention, I don't feel like I missed "too" much.

Vickie wrote: "Just about 100 pages in and enjoying it so far.😊"Me too Vickie! Just got started last night and I'm up to Part Two: The Mountain Boy, start of Chapter 4.
I really like McCammon's writing! This Usher family sounds f'ed up. hahaha
And (view spoiler)
I'm at chapter 17 (39%) and I'm really enjoying how it jumps around between characters. Still not a huge fan of the audio but if I'm not distracted it's a very absorbing story. I find the family dynamics really interesting, so looking forward to learning more about them.
Really just getting to start on this tonight, but looking forward to McCammon’s writing. It’s been awhile since I’ve read one of his books
Hunter wrote: "The audiobook reading by Scott Aiello is atrocious. Easily, the worst McCammon narration, IMO."I'm glad you said that because I'm new to audio books and this is not really selling the concept to me lol
Terry wrote: "Really just getting to start on this tonight, but looking forward to McCammon’s writing. It’s been awhile since I’ve read one of his books"This is my first by him actually! But won't be my last I think!
This is my second try for him. I couldn't finish Boy's Life, and yes, I know I was in the minority with that one, but it just didn't grab me at all. At least I've been enjoying this one from the get-go, so that's good.😊
Hunter wrote: "The audiobook reading by Scott Aiello is atrocious. Easily, the worst McCammon narration, IMO."Sounds like Krystal should read this one instead! hahaha
No wonder you've been struggling Krystal. 😉
Krystal wrote: "This is my first by him actually! But won't be my last I think!"Awesome Krystal! I'm glad you are finally getting to read some books by him. His Matthew Corbett series is so damn good!

I haven’t tried Boy’s Life yet, but did read Swan Song and The Wolf's Hour, and really liked both. Swan Song would be one of my favorites! I would recommend both.

Thanks, Ginger!
Well, I’m definitely a slacker right now. I’ve not really made any progress yet. Hoping to get some actual reading time the remainder of the week.
Terry wrote: "Well, I’m definitely a slacker right now. I’ve not really made any progress yet. Hoping to get some actual reading time the remainder of the week."No worries Terry! I haven't gotten far with this one as well. Too much going on this week. LOL
I'm hoping I can make more progress in the next few days. :D
I'm currently at 43%, alternating between reading and audio. My lazy a** is more inclined to pick it up for the audio, but I feel the chills a bit more when I read.So far, the scene that stands out most for me is (view spoiler)

I should get to your spoiler soon. I'm about 36% into the book. I'm glad I'm reading it instead of audio. It is giving me chills and I'm not sure (view spoiler)

Yes, totally agree! Also can I just say, I do not like Boone one bit. He seems like an absolute jerk.
Agree with both of you, Boone's an ass! I'm enjoying it for the most part, though for me, it's kind of a slow burn. I would just like to see something happen soon. But y'all know me... that's just how I am.😉😊

Hopefully lol. I am definitely intrigued about a lot of different things!

Feel the same as both of you on the slow burn. I’m enjoying the book and can’t wait for some action or death. 😉😂
I like all the setting up that he’s doing with all the myths. I can’t wait to see where that goes!
Vickie wrote: "Yes, bring on the death and gore!😂🤣😂"Krystal wrote: "LOL Ginger, glad I'm not the only one who spends horror novels waiting around for death XD"
Hahaha!!!!
I’m still behind (up to about 25% now) but the more I’m reading along in this, the more it is catching my attention.
Terry wrote: "I’m still behind (up to about 25% now) but the more I’m reading along in this, the more it is catching my attention."Yeah I've noticed with this one that the more I read the deeper I seem to be drawn in.
Got to the start of Chapter 28.You guys are right!! This book has so many layers and I love it!
So I have a theory...(view spoiler)
Oh yes, Ginger, lots and lots of layers! Just wait... And I feel like there's two different storylines going on, but still enjoying it.
