12 was quiet. People spoke in hushed tones and the overall air of it was eerie. Haven walked with her head low and pulled up her scarf around her head and face. Her hair was tied into a severe bun, to prevent it from slipping out. It would be a big identifier if she was caught given it was so light. She looked over at her other team members and walked, looking around for those to recruit. Her eyes landed on a group of boys cutting and lifting firewood. A man stood close by, watching them with steely eyes. She raised an eyebrow, noticing the hidden hatred in the boys' eyes. Target number one. "I think we should try for those boys over there..." She murmured under her breath to the others.
Olivia was by herself in the mines, fixing one of the elevators that had broken down last night. She dropped her screwdriver and cursed loudly as it clanged to the floor of the elevator, both sound echoing slightly from the mine entrance.
Freedom followed Haven’s gaze and nodded. There was definitely defiance shining in the boys’ eyes. Startled by the loud echo, the girl jumped. Curiously, she looked towards the mine entrance. Obviously there was someone down there, but who?
Nuska is right behind them, match in her pocket, gun skillfully hidden. She looks around, carefully, unfamiliar with the Districts of Panem. Suddenly a noise comes a from the mines. A bit startled, Nuska turns in that direction.
"Someone's there," she notes quietly to her allies.
"Someone's there," she notes quietly to her allies.
Haven nodded to them both and moved closer in the direction of the mines. She could see the vague outline of a feminine figure. Haven relaxed slightly, walking at a normal pace and hovering around the edges of the mines to avoid suspicions.
Olivia was scowling in frustration as she screwed in a bolt that had fallen out. There was a large screen in the center of the District, only a few yards away from the mine entrance, and it suddenly made a loud beeping noise.
Both tributes from District Twelve were dead.
Olivia looked up in alarm, eyes wide. No. Nonononono. Ariah...

Freedom glanced at the screen and made a small noise. Both tributes from the Mining District were gone. Two unlucky people they couldn’t save. The girl’s face hardened. “Let’s move,” she said to her companions. “No sense in wasting any more time.” — or lives.
Olivia climbed up out of the mines as fast as she could and ran to the center, where a crowd was already beginning to form. Someone, recognizing her as Ariah's sister, tried to pat her on the back, but she grabbed their wrist and glared at them before walking away, probably to go be alone somewhere.
Nuska catches sight of Ariah, and runs towards her. She slows to a stop nearing her, before whispering:
"Psst! Are you Ariah's sister?"
"Psst! Are you Ariah's sister?"
"Nuska.. Try to recruit her.." Haven murmured into the bluetooth type of device around each girls' ears. Haven had securely hidden it behind her ear and under the hood. She looked around warily and noticed the mine leader staring at her with a cold hard glare. She turned away, watching him from her peripheral vision. Out of the corner of her eyes on the left she noticed two soldiers watching the girls as well. "Guys... we have eyes. Freedom, let's go distract them and make sure they don't get near Nuska."

Olivia whirled around. Her screwdriver was still in her hand, and could probably be counted as a deadly weapon. She lowered the screwdriver quickly, noticing the soldiers watching her suspiciously. “Yeah, I am.” She murmured coldly. “And?”
Freedom nodded to Haven with a mischievous smile. Finally I can create some chaos... The girl took a few steps and crashed into someone, grunting a little with the impact. “Hey! Watch where you’re going!” She yelled, turning around. Oh. Oops. Freedom was a bit short for her age, and she had to look straight up to see the man. Definitely over six feet tall. “Would you be so kind as to MOVE?!” The man growled a few obscenities, and Freedom hoped they had caught the guards’ attention, at least somewhat.

Nuska catches quick sight of the guards, but ignores them for now. She had plastered sadness onto her face, and she looks Olivia straight in the eyes as she says:
"Well, um, I knew her..."
Her voice cracks at the last word and she lowers her eyes, playing the role of the grief-stricken acquaintance.

"Strange, since she hated socializing and constantly kept to herself." Olivia raised an eyebrow. "But even if you did know her, there's really no reason to come up to me about it, unless you want something."
The guards turn their heads in Haven and Freedom's direction. She watches them carefully, her hand hovering over her gun at all times. Haven said something obscene back, waving her hands around exasperatedly. The guards began to make their way over to them. Bingo!

Nuska grins. "Clever, aren't you?" she says lightly, trying not to show too much annoyance that her cover was being pierced already. "I think I like you."
She makes a move to walk away from the guards, trying to send the message to Olivia that they should move away from the guards, but as casually as possible.
