Domitylle (can only update books rn. sorry) (dom_brlw) | 34 comments Rick Riordan is the best!
His books are really fun and absolutely epic, we learn many things about mythology and his characters are just amazing!

bookishcarli | 63 comments BEST. AUTHOR. EVER.

His books are funny, diverse, unique, fast paced, and just amazing! No one can make you more immersed in a story than Rick Riordan. I really don't understand why his books aren't as popular as JK Rowling's.

Domitylle (can only update books rn. sorry) (dom_brlw) | 34 comments That's also something I don't understand...

Sofia (sofloaf) | 3641 comments Rick Riordan wrote some good stuff, but I'm honestly tired of his work now. It's so repetitive--same plot, similar characters, same sense of humor.

Alteast it's better than JKR's, alll of her characters are the same. And i disagree. What two characters are alike?

message 7: by Sofia, Bookish Duck (new)

Sofia (sofloaf) | 3641 comments Eh. I don't support JKR, but I think Hermione is a wonderful character. And she's certainly different from Harry and Ron.

Yeah, but Annabeth's different from Percy and Grover, is she not?

I meant throughout all his series. Percy, especially. There are sooo many other characters in his different series that are carbon copies of Percy. It got annoying.

Who? Jason and Leo and Frank and Nico and Will and Lester/Apollo and Carter are not even close to Percy. Magnus is kinda similar, but still very different. I mean, Magnus doesn't even like blue!

message 11: by Sofia, Bookish Duck (new)

Sofia (sofloaf) | 3641 comments I got Percy vibes from Carter.

I like his books, but they aren't one of my favorite books, really. I mean I love the concepts and everything, but I have other Greek mythology inspired books I love to read too.

Abby | 6 comments I love his books. He is in my top five favorite authors.

message 16: by Yasmin (new)

Yasmin Silva My opinion about him :
AMAZING , AMAZING , AMAZING , AMAZING
there’s this line between who’s better, Riordan or Rowling, I’ll say my opinion, Harry Potter is better than Rick’s series, but Rick’s way of writing is better than JK’s, so I prefer Rick Riordan, but I prefer Harry Potter than his series (I don't know if you understand)
but saying in terms of the person, Rick is much, much, much better, without saying that JK proved to be a very prejudiced person these times, and rick's books are fun, funny, creative, with super cool adventures, that you can't do stopped reading, the characters are each different and with their culture
score a thousand for him !!!

Tisha (On partial hiatus) | 99 comments Rick Riordan...how to describe him and his wondrous books without using infinite words?!
Rick Riordan's books are funny, sarcastic, creative, and informative.Uncle Rick uses different backgrounds and cultures to give the books an exciting thrill, and he keeps being sarcasm and seriousness under balance. That's what makes an amazing author.

g.vee (gvesthetic) | 2350 comments Rick Riordan is my favourite author. I really love his work. His plots are always amazing, and don't get me started on his comedy. It's awesome. And I really love his characters.

message 30: by kashvi (new)

kashvi (mistyrealms) ok so i just got to know that rick riordan is problematic because of:
harmful representation of a female muslim character, native american character, and lgbt+ characters

you guys can read more about problematic authors over here:

Additionally, Rick did the same with a Jewish character as well. He didn't represent Lavinia harmfully, however, it's evident he didn't put in that much research. I'm a religious Jew, and this kinda bothered me. If you want to read more about this, here's a link with someone saying more about this. https://qaraxuanzenith.tumblr.com/pos...

aurora *ੈ✩‧₊˚ (aurorareading) he's epic.
