Game 1: Poppy Flowers
🗿 Olmec: Poppy Flowers, also known as Vase and Flowers and Vase with Viscaria, is a painting by Vincent Van Gogh with an estimated value of US $50 millions to $55 million. It was stolen from Cairo’s Mohamed Mahmoud Khalil Museum in August 2010 and is yet to be found.
Egyptian officials erroneously believed they had recovered the painting only hours after its theft when two Italian suspects attempted to board a plane to Italy at Cairo International Airport. The same painting had been stolen from the same museum on June 4, 1977, and was recovered ten years later in Kuwait.
The painting is small, measuring 65 x 54 cm and depicts yellow and red poppy flowers. It is believed that Van Gogh painted it in 1887, three years before his suicide. The painting, which is of a vase and yellow and red poppies, contrasted against a dark ground is a reflection of Van Gogh’s deep admiration for Adolphe Monticelli, an older painter whose work influenced him when he first saw it in Paris in 1886.

Okay :) Not sure if I'll match your guess, since I'll likely be all kinds of busy but let's live and see what actually happens :)
I am, but I feel like all the books I had planned to read for next month do not cover any of the 1 round prompts. LOL

😂😂 it’s all good you can bank them for future rounds.

I expect that after this challenge we'll all be able to add to the list of our unusual reading locations such gems as:
The 3 Observatories
The Lightning Room
The Heart Room
The Lightning Room
The Wall Climb
The Room of the Royal Gongs
The Ledges
The Room of Harmonic Convergence
The Room of Fallen Columns
The Troubled Bridge
The Holes of Python
The Treasury of Golden Orbs
Gotta love these! :)

Great! Basically, from how I get it, we don't need to be reading 100% simultaneously to do a BR (like, are you reading this chapter while I'm reading it). Would 4-5 Nov work for you? We can be slightly late to the thread.
I'll ask for the thread right now:(https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...), and as soon as it's opened, each of us will have to do, in our own reading time, at least 4 status check points across the reading (I usually do more but that's just mee, most people jot just 4 notes).
If any of us doesn't show up for the BR, it still counts as a BR for the one who showed up.
The BRs look slightly like this thread (or any in the neighbouring BR folders): https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

LOL, I don't think I mentioned anything about bonus points if you read for the correct answer. Hmm, I'll have to sit and think about that.
As for the task, you guys can read for either A, B, or C throughout Round 2. So when you post on your team's review thread,

Ok, I've no idea what that pendant means. Is it good or bad that we have a half of it? Is there something in particular that we are supposed to do with it and I just missed? :) Sorry, if that's a dumb Q. (It likely is :))I thought there was something about the rooms where if you read for the wrong room you lose a pendant (or a piece of it?). But that's not the current game, is it? Or else?
Just wanted to jot a short note that I'm gonna be AWOL for some timeslots during Nov (that's what I meant by the mystery number, not that I'd read 200 bpm :))

In the sign ups, it states the following:
So the pendants just help you towards the Temple Run since 3 of the rooms within the game will have a temple guard.
In the sign ups, it states the following:
🗿 Temple Run: Will have tasks/challenges that fit the 12-13 rooms throughout the temple. Each temple run will have 3 guards, so if someone on the team reads for a room with a guard the team will lose half a pendant.
🗿 For rounds 1-3 in each game, the winning team of each round will receive a full pendant. Whereas the remaining teams will receive half a pendant.
So the pendants just help you towards the Temple Run since 3 of the rooms within the game will have a temple guard.
Alaina wrote: "So the pendants just help you towards the Temple Run since 3 of the rooms within the game will have a temple guard." Ahhha. So, for each book read for a guarded roQom will bring the amount of pendants down by 0.5? If I and 2 someone elses, we between us read 10 books, hit the guarded rooms, say, 7 times, 4x 1 of them, 3x another 1 of them between ourselves, how many pendants do we stand to lose? Or am I getting this wrong? We can all read for the same room? Do we all have to chose different ones?
Hitting 1 room 30 times loses just 0.5 pendants? Or would that be 15 ones?
Can the pendants get to the negatives (I'm pretty sure I'd proficient in getting there - there are so many cool locations that I'd love to put on the spreadsheet!

LOL I love it all! Okay so once you read for a task/room that a guard is in - you lose half a pendant. It wont happen if you read for that task/room again after that because now the guard is gone. Having leftover pendants will be a good thing when it comes to the Temple Round. It means bonus points!

Also, since I didn't specify the first letter of the title or book series title (I did for author's initials lol), I will allow the first letter of any word in the title/book series title.
For example, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone you could use the following letters:
H, P, A, T, S, J, or R.

Sorry guys, work kept me so busy for past few days, I haven't done any reading. But I finally have some breathing room, so I'll start reading something.
So I did a 'Wheel Decide' for extra points for Round 2 for correct guesses. The wheel ranged from 1-5 and it landed on 4! So for each correct guess will get 4 extra points! Woohoo!
Alaina wrote: "So I did a 'Wheel Decide' for extra points for Round 2 for correct guesses. The wheel ranged from 1-5 and it landed on 4! So for each correct guess will get 4 extra points! Woohoo!" Wow! Great news! :)
Agnė wrote: "Sorry guys, work kept me so busy for past few days, I haven't done any reading. But I finally have some breathing room, so I'll start reading something." Agnė, don't worry about that, I'm the same way. I'm like goashhh, will I ever get that weekend?
For Round 2, you have guessed correctly 5 times for the following question,
The correct answer was, A - Vase and Flowers. 20 extra points were given.
Q: Poppy Flowers is also known as what?A - Vase and Flowers: ‘Flower(s)’ in text (pg/% & quote)
B - Vase and Weeds: ‘Weed(s) in text (pg/% & quote)
C - Vase with Butterfly: ‘Butterfly/Butterflies’ in text (pg/% & quote)

I started reading a book on October 27th and finished it recently. Does it count in this challenge? What am I supposed to do? For only page points, can I just post the bookcover, the review and the page numbers? And the book was an audiobook, so how do I calculate? There is no printed edition of the book.

So that's about 4 hrs and 32 mins long.
4 hrs and 32 mins = 272 mins (4*60 = 240 + 32)
272*150 words per min = 40,800 words
40,800/250 words per page = 163.2 pages
So I would round it to 163 pages total for this book.
At 75%, that means you read 122 pages for November. So you can count it for the current round your team is on if it fits the spell out. If not, then you can put it on hold until it works for a round/game that the team is currently on.
