A friendly eating establishment.

Lilliana shoves her way through the buffet door and walks to the back of the line, leading to the counter.
She feels inside of her pocket, making sure that her six bucks are still safely secured in her ratty jeans.
She tries to ignore the eyes she feels boring into her thin frame, as she shuffles closer to the counter.
Jeez, we're not at the Buckingham Palace, Lilliana thinks quite annoyed, though she knows why people are staring.
Drapped in a baggy dingy gray sweater, tattered blue jeans and dirty old sneakers, anyone would be able to tell the girl's predicament.

Z ||Frypans, Am I Right?!|| (doyoulikescarymovies_) Brooke got a bit hungry going to the mall and decided to get a snack at the buffet, she knew tricks to not getting stomped on. she got her snack and went to pay, this was the hard part she played the orphan card to cut the line. she was smart that way

After what seemed like an eternity, Lilliana finally made her way to the front of the line.
Without making eye contact with the cashier, she handed over her six dollars and made her way over to the counter, piled with more food then she or anyone at Woodrow bridge could have ever hoped for.
She grabbed a plate and filled it to the brim, with fries, eggrolls, stir fry and brownies.
When she was younger, she would have squealed at the sight of her food touching.
Not she was just glad if she had food.
Lilliana filled her cup with fruit punch, then found a table near the back of the buffet.

Raylee walked in the the front door and made her way slowly through the line, looking around at the people sitting and eating as she waited. Once she finished making her way through the line, she walked to the back where a girl was sitting and smiled at her, “Hey I’m Raylee. Are you new around here?” Raylee asked not knowing how long this girl has been in the town.

Lilly froze, her fork of fried rice mid way to her mouth.
She wasn't particularly fond of talking to strangers.
But she couldn't be rude.
So, she set her fork down on the table and gave a wary smile.
"No, I've lived in this town for three years," she replied, not wanting to give away too much info.

Raylee got nervous, “Oh...okay yeah, sorry. I’m not good at talking to people but you look like the most trustworthy person here, no offense to anyone else” She laughed awkwardly, “sorry I’m really bad at this stuff”

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Lilly raises an incredulous eyebrow. "Seriously? I look like garbage!"
She chukled at that last part. "Most people can't even look me in the eyes when they talk to me…If they talk to me!"

“Are you kidding??? You’re so freaking pretty!” Raylee said without even thinking. “And I get it, I wasn’t exactly everyone’s favorite person in my hometown but I’m sure you’re great even though I don’t really know you enough yet to be 100% sure but I can feel it,” she smiled.

message 10: by [deleted user] (last edited Oct 30, 2020 07:43PM) (new)

Lilliana bit her lip, wondering why this stranger was being so kind to her. She knew absolutely nothing about her history, yet she had payed Lilly one of the nicest comments ever.
She took a deep breath, then said, "I'm a homeless teen living under a bridge…Not much pretty about that."
Lilly looked down at the table, embarrassed.

Raylee smiled, “Beauty isn’t because of where you live but rather how you look at life and the influence you leave. You are beautiful. And anyone who can be that honest to a stranger deserves to know it....And if it’s not too weird for me to ask but what should I call you?” Raylee said trying not to act awkward

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Lilly sighed, realizing that this stranger just like so many others, didn't get it. It didn't matter how positive she was or what beauty she chose to focus on. She would still wake up in a tent tomorrow.
But Lilly bit back her frustration and said, "I'm Lilliana but you can call me Lilly."

Raylee looked at Lilly confused, “Okay it’s nice to meet you Lilly....and is something wrong? I realize I’m not the best person to talk to but I didn’t think I’d gotten to the “shes so intolerable that I’ll just sigh and pretend to like her” phase yet,” Raylee laughed awkwardly, and a little disappointed in herself

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Lilly shoke her head. "I'm not trying to be rude…But I have a hard time trusting people that don't live with me everyday. And as to your "what's wrong" question, I'll just make my answer quick and say everything. It's getting cold and we have small kids with us…If we don't find a way to keep the place warm…"Lilly stopped in mid sentence, horrified that she had revealed so much.

message 15: by Eliza (new)

Eliza | 366 comments Mod
Raylee thinks she knows why Lilly’s acting so secretive but she was too scared to ask or be wrong. “Yeah I get it. Everything gets hard when it gets colder... But I mean youve lived like that for, what? Three years? Youll be fine. I mean at least you aren’t working almost constantly during the day and then up all night. And at least you have a place, with family and friends, even if they aren’t real family...” Raylee zones out for a second thinking of her family

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Lilliana sits back in her seat and crosses her arm, hoping she doesn't seem too agitated. "No offense but unless you've actually been homeless you have no idea how hard and miserable it is. I get you're just trying to be nice…Or find ways that we can relate but I live a totally different life than you do. Albeit a crappier one but still different."

“For the past two years I’ve been alone and haven’t lived in the same town for more than two months. I know that’s no where near what you have to go through but I feel like I at least understand the part about not knowing what will happen when it gets cold...and sorry if I’m like trying to make our circumstances relate when they probably don’t, I just..I dunno its not important,” Raylee said embarrassed, while trying not to get too detailed about what she’s been doing

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

You hear a scream and a sickening crunch of bones coming from the back of the store. A cry for help pierces the air.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Lilliana jumps up and turns toward the scream, abandoning her conversation with the stranger.
"What was that?" Lilly screams.

The zombie was feasting on an employee. The zombie looks up from his meal and glances at where the noise came from. He slowly gets up and starts walking torwards the girls.

message 22: by [deleted user] (last edited Oct 31, 2020 08:35AM) (new)

"Come on!' Lilly screams, leaping out of her seat and grabbing the stranger's hand.
There are only two options, run the other way behind the counter or push pass the zombie.
Lilly takes a deep breath and goes with the latter.
She yanks the new girl beside her and runs pass the zombie

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

He turns to face them again. A second zombie comes from the back of the store.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

The room erupts in ear piercing screams as Lilly prepares to open the door.
But before she does she notices that the streets are littered with the freaks.
"Oh, no," she wheezes.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Some of them see her. Growling they start shuffling torwards the girls. The other zombies hear the call and look to see what their brethren were rumbling about. The zombies in the store growl as they come closer to the girls.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Lilly turns suddenly and drops to the ground, inches from the zombies feet. Not daring to look up at them, she quickly crawls over to her table, wondering if she can make it behind the counter fast enough.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

The outside zombies start banging on the window front. The two zombies in the store turn once more at Lilly. The employee rises and joins them in their pursuit.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Lilly hops up from the ground and dives behind the counter, crashing into two terrified workers.
"Somebody call the police!" she roars, staring at the freaks banging out a constant rhythm on the window.

Raylee follows her behind the counter. “what’s going on???” She says, thinking. “Wait are those zombies?”

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

The employees look at her wide eyed. "What are these things!?" One of them brings out her phone and calls.

Eliza | 366 comments Mod
Raylee starts freaking out and babbling, “How in the world are you supposed to kill zombies? Well I mean if we had guns or knifes....wait how fast can zombies run.....” Raylee continues babbling and thinking and trying to figure out what to do then turns to Lilly, “can we tie them up or lock them in a basement or something?”

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Lilly shakes her head, baffled at the days events.
"Whatever they are they're not human!" she replies, listening as the frantic employee calls the cops.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

"They can't help us!?!??!??" The employee shrieks. "They have calls like these all over the city!?!??!?"

message 34: by Eliza (new)

Eliza | 366 comments Mod
“Is there a basement or storage room somewhere in here that we could lock them in?” Raylee asks trying to think of everything her brother used to tell her about zombies and vampires and all those “fictional” things

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Lilly looks over at the woman, her eyes wide with fear and screams," wait! Did you say all over the city?"

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

She nods wide eyed. "They are calling in the military right now."

“So if we get out of this city we’d be safe?” Raylee asks, hopeful

message 38: by [deleted user] (last edited Oct 31, 2020 09:19AM) (new)

"Everyone im the storage room!" a disgruntled man shouts, frantically pointing to a room to the left of the counter.
"Hurry up!"

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

She shakes her head glancing at her home feed. "It's everywhere." She shows them her phone's warning to stay inside. A picture of Tokyo is displayed with the same kind of freaks in it chasing citizens.

“What? We can’t trap ourselves. We need to get the monster things in there” Raylee says while rubbing her head

message 41: by [deleted user] (last edited Oct 31, 2020 09:26AM) (new)

"She's right," Lilly agrees, still staring at the zombies banging the window. "We can't trap ourselves. We have to fight."

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

"But there's like 30!" The employee screeches.

“If they’re dead, how are we supposed to fight them?” Raylee thinks for a moment, “wait do zombies not like fire or is that Frankenstein?”

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

((Gtg guys! See ya later!))

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

((Okay bye!))

Lilly chuckles despite herself and she's about to reply, when
Crack…
A long split runs down the glass door, as it begins to break.
Lilly freezes.

The crack in the door grows larger until, the entire glass pane comes sprinkling down, the tinkling of the shards hitting the floor fill the air.
Thirty zombies come bustling in at once.

Raylee walks on her knees to the grill where the meat is cooked, grabs a paper towel and lays it over the hot stove/grill and waits for it to start burning then grabs tongs and holds up the burning piece of paper, “what happens if a zombie gets or bites you?” She asks before she goes to the zombies
