Since it was *February* the last time we met in person and it doesn't appear that anything is changing any time soon, I thought maybe I should throw up a new discussion board for buddy reads. If you're not familiar with the term, it's like a micro book club where at least two people decide that they're going to read the same book at the same time. Here is a description from another Goodreads group: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/....

I would love this. I am in another book club but missing scifi discussions. Any suggestions for a book to read?
Sandi wrote: "Maybe start with the free Tor book? I don’t remember what it was That way we can easily get copies."I think that book was The Haunting of Tram Car 015.
We could also consider Hoopla titles since there's no limit on how many people can have a copy out at the same time.
I don't know who might be up for it, but there are also sites/newsletters that share when ebook deals become available (prices can range from 99 cents to $4.99.) For example, Book Riot has the archives from their book deals newsletter at https://bookriot.com/category/deals/. Note that you would have to click through the link to make sure the sale on a given title is still happening.
Then there is also how we want to go about discussing what we read and the timing. One simple way is I could throw up two new discussion threads. One would be "no spoilers" and the other would be "spoilers" for those who have finished. Everyone would read at their own pace.
The other way would be setting a timeframe to read a certain amount by and then discussing as we go.
Thoughts? Opinions?
I would be interested in doing the 2nd option where we read to a certain point then discuss along the way.
Maybe divide the discussion into chapters. (There are 6). That way we can discuss as we read but still have a little freedom if we get behind. Maybe have a goal of 2 chapters a week.

I think I am going to go ahead and set up a topic for the first two chapters of Tram Car now, but I will wait about a week to put up the next one.
Sandi wrote: "Uncharted Territory is short. Let’s just have a finished thread for this one."I would suggest then everyone put in their requests for Skyward, if they haven't done so already. (Mine actually came in already, but I pushed it out a week so that I could get to Uncharted Territory/not be too far ahead of anyone else for Skyward.)
