Our first book of 2021 has arrived! This month, our featured book is The Silence of Bones by June Hur.

Set in 1800s Korea during the Joseon era, the book tells the story of a young girl who is indentured to assist the bureau of investigation. This debut novel was selected by the American Booksellers Association as one of the top debuts of Winter/Spring 2020 (Indies Introduce).

Are you excited to read this book? If you had to pick between historical fiction or mystery, which would it be?

This book sounds interesting to me! I have been wanting to read more books about Korean culture, so am glad this book is set in Korea. The premise also intrigues me. Hmm... I enjoy reading both historical fiction and mysteries. I guess I slightly prefer mysteries if I had to chose, but I am glad that this book blends the two genres.
