Lydia had no self confidence and the misfortune to be their parents favorite. Could not stand up to her mother for fear of loosing her, not to her father for fear of dissapearing him and had all her hopes in her brother who was trying to live his own life. And she didn't know how to react to when Jack said '' What do you want?'' because she never thought about what she truly wanted and she needs to find her self-worth is so much more and to find what she likes and stop saying yes so that everyone else will like her.
