A hitched ride home in a snow storm turns sinister when one of the passengers is plotting for the ride to end in disaster.

When Mira flies home to spend Christmas with her mother in Pittsburgh, a record-breaking blizzard results in a cancelled layover. Desperate to get to her grief-ridden mother in the wake of a family death, Mira hitches a ride with a group of friendly college kids who were on her initial flight.

As the drive progresses and weather conditions become more treacherous, Mira realizes that the four other passengers she's stuck in the car with don't actually know one another.

Soon, they're not just dealing with heavy snowfall and ice-slick roads, but the fact that somebody will stop at nothing to ensure their trip ends in a deadly disaster.

And ugh can't believe that B*** actually helped Josh for drugs, like she obviously did not even care if he slaughtered them all smh. It was ok as a whole. Quick and annoying at times, I think they all behaved so ridiculously but I'm glad they all made it out. Funny that Brecken saves the day when he appeared the most obvious villain of the bunch all along. But umm what was up with that hitchhiker, why is that never addressed. It's quite great untill now. I am hooked and in for the ride. There's Kayla who's creepy and doesn't says much till now. Josh, with curches and cute-ass combo and he didn't tell us the real reason behind his knee right? Harper, who's all super optimistic and I suspect her who might be "intentionally sabotaging the ride. And Brecken, who's again suspicious to me because he insisted on driving and the Harper accident happened in his presence and the chains scenario.

The man in the creepy stop and the letter.. can there be connection?

Hey btw!! The decided pace was five chapters a day!

Totally into it! Kayla is as creepy as ever! I have no clue about her illness and all the sleepiness. She's wierd but doesn't looks like a plotter. Josh, who's putting idea's in Mira's head is something. Harper lost her wallet and is panicked over police. She is hiding something definitely. And right now, I would say that suspicious is Brecken, because he seems to be in control of things. And mostly my gut calls him out.

The thing between Harper and Bracken.. suspicious but not "involved". The letter is still "who-the-hell-is-he-McDolnald's?" creepy.

Ok I am up with 70%

The most sus are Josh and Brecken. Though I would be most surprised if it turns out to be Kayla because she had nothing up her sleeve except her wierd vibes. And I bet the yellow cap man is the same who is writing letters to Mira. (Funny flying thought, the letter dude is involved with someone sitting in the car and is trying to sabotage it for some reason related to Mira and God he's total psyco!) Again, I would love it if it's Kayla because she can be someone who enjoys people going through anxiety and sabotaging for the fun of it. And Harper with her caring Mama attitude.. something about her past is related. She writes a journal!
Harper and Brecken.. something's going on but I don't think it's anyhow related to the actual mystery.

Well this is starting to clear up, I just figured out why the book was named five total strangers and already I have so many objections to the main character’s behavior.

This keeps getting weirder and scarier. I wonder who is the one writing those notes or letters.

Okay I NEED to figure out who is writing these letters and then whether they actually sent them or not!
Also what is up with losing their stuff I’m super confused and anxious.
Mind you I’m reading while in a car on a highway and it’s raining when it really shouldn’t, add gas to the fire 🥵

(view spoiler)[okay I have good reason to believe Harper wrote the letters to Mira, because she was the one to get her in on the trip, and she’s treating her like an actual baby.
But again, there is Josh, all weird and protective of Mira, and not great experience with letter writing.. because she hadn’t responded?
Or Brecken, because his letter-writing experience didn’t exactly have a good result, but no other reason considering he isn’t trying to get close to Mira or anything.

I’m not as shook as I thought I would be, though Kayla was a bit surprising.
I must say the storyline is amazing and the book is pretty good, but I did sometimes skip when there was like 4 pages of no conversation lines, it gets boring, but aside from that I liked it, I wished there was an ending chapter where she, Harper and Brecken would just sit and chat lol..
