It's interesting to see a different world where Dorothy turned evil, and everyone is actually so much different than the stories Amy and the whole world has read about. And it would've been more interesting if the author had build this world more than the original story, and actually, if you think about it that's a bad idea. What if someone hasn't read the original Oz story? Because it's assumed that the readers will understand.

I didn't like the way it was narrated from the beginning, or maybe it's Amy's tone/attitude. The beginning is cliche, and maybe it was a go to character type in the 2014, where you have the MC that others bully because of this or that, and the bully has to be a pretty girl that's also a bitch that sees a problem and makes one where there's none. And of course if the MC does something to defend herself the bully will use it to their advantage, and in the end the MC will be the bad character that just can't try to be nice.

Other things about Amy annoyed me, like when she gets to Oz and meets Indigo and the monkey, how she doesn't listen to them and thinks she knows all. Why? Well she read it in the books, and of course she knows best because of that, not the characters that had to live in fear in this new twisted Oz.

Also, the way she judges Dorothy on her way of dressing. I don't know if I should question the author's way of describing the pretty evil characters that had to be slutty cuz that's equals evil or is it a thing that Amy dislikes and makes it evil.. I'm not good at distinguishing the author's thoughts from the character's.That also gives the vibe of old cliche books.

I checked reviews for the book somewhere before chapter 8 😬 because I wasn't caring if I get spoiled for something or not.

you already i know i agree about all the cliche stuff😂 but yes Amy can be pretty damn infuriating! and yeah, Dorothy should be allowed to wear whatever the hell she wants, dressing 'slutty' doesn't make her evil!

Darcey | 382 comments given you don't care about spoilers i'll talk about the second set (i just finished it).
honestly the cliches are getting WORSE. there's the cliched, grumpy, hot boy, the 'i'm too special for manners' personality trait (it's just common courtesy not to speak with your mouth full!), and - worst of all - the stupid JEALOUS. this chick turns up covered in blood with a bad injury, and Amy is JEALOUS because the grumpy hot dude paid attention to her? damn girl, that's just stupid.
also now Star is gone and i'm depressed, Star CARRIED the whole book😂. oh and i'm totally guessing that Pete is a bad dude or something ://
and what kind of name is PETE?!

😂😂 oh, boy. I saw the jealousy in the reviews I saw and I just don't get it. That makes the story even more amateurish. I still haven't read today's chapters but I will later.

If it's possible.. the second day chapters annoy me even more. Like the writing is so amateurish and the dialogues with the Pete dude (like, Pete? So Oz Magical).. I'm just cringing.

Oh, and she meets this Grandma Gert and immediately trusts her.. like, are you dumb?, and then she feels betrayed because she thought she found someone she trusted but oops they trying to "kill" her.. She hasn't even known Gert for 5 minutes but she already trusts her. what???

This sentence, just.. I had maybe been responsible for Indigo’s death, but it was only because I’d been trying to save an innocent monkey’s life. she's not thinking she's the reason Indigo is dead but only maybe, and it was because she was doing something noble, saving a live... W O W

I read 15 chapters and I'm DNF-ing.. i just can't suffer till the end.
